I checked this hotel on tripadvisor as I wanted somwhere special for our 25th anniversary and must say we weren't disappointed! The place grows on you from the moment you enter and the views from room 5 were simply spectacular. The gardens are also wonderful and Tito was kind enough to provide some cuttings for my wife (a keen gardener).Tito's... more

We stayed at this wonderful hotel for three days and had the most wonderful time. The standards delivered by the very friendly owners and staff are second to none. The rooms all have a stunning sea view and are very well appointed, with many extra little things that other hotels just don't offer from the fresh coffee maker to fluffy... more

Took my wife here for St Valentine's Day. She had not been told where we were going & was suitably impressed. Wonderful cliff & sea views from our room - a stunning interior with a genuine & original Edwardian look to the place. Excellent service - Jose the waiter from Barcelona (not Manuel) deserves a special mention - & the... more

On arrival we were amazed by the view and welcomed by a hotel that at first looked slightly tired but actually was quiet the opposite it has so much history and character. We were shown to room 5 and a view to die for. We slept with the window and curtains opened so that we could hear the sea below... more

This is a lovely place to stay. We felt very comfortable here and I couldn’t recommend this place enough. The dramatic views across the Bristol channel and headland are spectacular. The hotel is perched on a steep cliff surrounded by beautiful gardens. It is a very quiet, private venue however just a hop, skip and a jump from Lynton itself,... more

Extraordinary place - really a privelidge to stay in an authentic old home like this. wonderful interiors, great rooms and faultless service. Simply one of the nices hotels I've been in in the south of England. Sensitively maintained as it should be, and not turned into some dreadful b&b schlock like most of the others round here. Restaurant suffers from... more

It would be hard to fault this beautiful hotel. Extraordinarily well appointed rooms with panoramic views across the Bristol Channel to Wales. If you are considering a romantic treat this place is perfect. The owners were welcoming and accomodating. Our evening meal in the hotel restaurant was delicious (although very slightly marred by funereal piped musak!) Breakfast on the terrace... more

This is a hidden gem of a small hotel on a cliff above Lynmouth on the edge of Exmoor. It felt like staying in a rich uncle's country house, and the the owners, the Spaldis, made us feel like honoured guests. The food was uniformly excellent for the weekend we spent there. The wine list was short, but full of... more

We are always looking for small property with a character. We found Hewitt's in a travel guide and we tried. We stayed there 2 nights mid June. Lynton is a pretty village on the North Devon coast. From the centre of the village you take a dead end narrow road along the coast and after few hundred meters you enter... more
