We visited the Crown Hotel on 10 April 2012 and felt uncomfortable from the minute we walked into a small dingy bar. The Landlord, I presume, was the wrong side of the bar, along with children. He just stared at us very unnervingly, until a young lady at least pointed towards the other room to explain there was a larger...

Stayed in Lynton at Easter called in and wow. Really great atmosphere, local people really friendly. Didn't eat but the menu looked good. Met a nice crowd of folk with their dogs (steve, paddy and fern) had such a great time. Will come again for sure!!! Thank you
We had a fantastic time at The Crown Hotel at the weekend. The hotel is clean, comfortable and has lots of character. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. We sat in the court yard in the sunshine and enjoyed the beautiful surrounding views.
Can't say what it would be like to stay there, because we haven't. My husband is a Tribute fan, so we stop by whenever we are in Lynton, which is not as often as we would like. We have always found Phil and Carol to be friendly and welcoming. We have eaten there a few times and the food has...

My family and a group of our friends travelled down to Devon and spent New Year in The Crown. The landlord and landlady, Phil and Carol couldn't have been more welcoming and looked after us all brilliantly. Our children loved the experience and even made some lovely new friends. The locals are some of the nicest and funniest people I...

Dropped into Lynton to take a look on a dank day in December, and stumbled across The Crown. Friendly welcome from the landlord and barman and a welcoming fire enticed us to stay for lunch. Fish and chips, whitebait, washed down with cider; followed by enormous puddings (what diet??) and coffee necessitated a rigorous walk along the cliff top afterwards,...

Myself and my partner have recently had the most awful experience of booking at this hotel. On arriving, even though booked two months in advance, there was no record of us arriving. On entering the premises, the bar was occupied with whom I assume to be locals who made us feel exceedingly uncomfortable. We then asked for our keys etc...

We stopped here for one night on our way to Combe Martin, and yeah the bed was a little lumpy and the rooms could possibly do with a lick of paint here and there, but wow what a fantastic atmosphere this place has.... the locals friendly and come on face it you too have to make an effort, we had...
