What a wonderful 2 night break in Shelley's. We had a warm, friendly welcome with lots of helpful advice. Richard seemed to know what we were interested in without being told and quickly equipped us with a good 'walking' map. The hotel atmosphere was calm and relaxing. Our room was lovely and spacious with a great view. The breakfast was... More

Staying at the Shelley's was just so relaxing a great place to explore the beautiful village of Lynmouth with its excellent walks, pubs and small shops. The hotel has large clean comfortable bedrooms and separate lounge and dinning areas making it a great place to meet up with old friends (or meet new ones!). The breakfast was fantastic offering a... My wife and I stayed for two nights and we were very disappointed ... WAIT!!! ... disappointed that it was only two nights. We could have stayed forever and a day. Shelley's is quite simply everything you could ask for, so much so that it would have been so easy to just sit in the conservatory and/or balcony attached to... More

It was our first visit to Lynmouth and we stayed in Shelley's room at the hotel for four nights. The room was lovely with a great view out the window. Breakfast was cooked really well and there was a good choice available on the menu. Hosts Jane and Richard were very friendly and offered lots of advice about the area.... More

Enjoyed a short 3 night stay in this period hotel, this was our first visit. Our bedroom had a view overlooking Lynmouth Bay, the bed was really comfortable and our room with en-suite facilities was first class. The cooked breakfast could not be faulted with good produce. Also a range of cereals, juices, fruit and yoghurt. The hotel has a... More

2nd timers at Shelley's; we came a couple of years ago, liked it so we thought we'd return. Hosts Jane & Richard are as welcoming as ever, always with time to chat about places to visit, walks to do and places to dine etc.......... This time we stayed in the Bay Room, a big spacious bright, light room with a... More

This was our second visit to Shelley’s and we were again delighted with the accommodation, service and, most importantly, welcome by Richard and Jane. The breakfast was delicious and the Honesty Bar proved a real bonus after a full-on day walking in the coastal paths/countryside of Lynmouth. We look forward to returning soon!

This was our family's third visit to Shelley's. As always, we received a warm welcome by Jane and Richard. Shelley's is in an excellent location, the bedrooms are clean and well presented and the breakfast is very good. We enjoy walking and did a very good walk from the Hunter's Inn in the Heddon Valley along the coastal path and... More

Shelley's deserves its place as the top hotel in this area. We have stayed several times and Richard and Jane make us genuinely welcome every time. Room 3 has excellent views of the town and is very clean and comfortable although the mattress is nearing the end of its life. The beer is good at the Rising Sun! The volume... More
