Stay where 19C English Romantic poet 'Percy Bysshe Shelley' honeymooned during the Summer of 1812. Shelley's in Exmoor National Park is an award winning hotel with commanding spectacular views across Lynmouth Bay. We have lovingly restored it to a very high standard throughout to create a warm, friendly and welcoming ambience. Under our personal supervision it has developed it's very own unique character, elegance and style that comes only from attention to detail. more » « less

My husband and I have just come back from a three night stay at this lovely small hotel, we were attracted to the area because of the wonderful scenery and fabulous walking it offers. Shelley’s is cosy and welcoming and not at all stuffy, we love the Exmoor anyway but this topped it off. This is the place to come... more

We stayed for a long weekend at Shelleys and absolutely loved it, we would recommend this hotel to anyone. The rooms were very comfortable and spotlessly clean, there was a great choice at breakfast and the hosts made us feel very welcome. We had a great time with 2 splendid days walking and would definately go back there. Highly recommended. more

We had three lovely days at Shelleys, admittedly the weather was nice. A few years ago we stopped at Shelleys for a couple nights on the way to Cornwall and always promised ourselves that we would return. Shelley’s is lovely with really great standards in a very informal way with Jane & Richard on hand if you need any help.... more

We were looking for a relaxing break, we needed a weekend away and Shelley’s gave us everything we were looking for. We were very impressed indeed with Shelley’s, from the very genuine and warm welcome from our hosts Jane & Richard, to the beautiful sea views and to start the day super breakfasts which were always very filling and extremely... more

My partner and I stayed at Shelley's for a four-night break towards the end of September. We were a little unsure what to expect as we had not previously visited the area, and do not normally stay in b&b accommodation, but had read the previous reports of Shelley's and hoped for the best. We were not disappointed with the room... more

It is not often that we write regarding what we consider to be a treasured find . We have just spent four lovely nights at Shelley's. We consider ourselves quite seasoned travelers with fairly high expectations which are often disappointed - not so here though! What a magnificent setting Lynmouth has, the position is beautiful and from the moment that... more

Shelleys was, uncharacteristically, a hotel we hadn’t researched before we arrived in Lynmouth, but was everything that we could have hoped for. The room, decorated in traditional style, could not be criticised. It was a generous size and had the added bonus of a small conservatory and a view down to the sea. The execution of everything in the room... more

Having originally intended to go to Scotland for a long weekend, but hearing the weather forecast was horrendous, I paid my first visit to Devon to please the wife! We were delighted with Shelley's, Lynmouth and the surrounding area. We had some fantastic walks (as other reviewers have said) and wonderful hospitality from Jane and Richard. They work extremely hard... more

Booked last minute through laterooms for 1 night, based on the reviews on this site and was not disapointed. Room, bathroom and whole hotel was spotlessly clean, with nice view towards the sea from our light and airy conservatory room. It was the perfect choice for us, my boyfriend cannot abide overly fussy B&B's where he is forced to engage... more

A professionally run establishment providing excellent quality accommodation and superb breakfasts. The attention to detail on every aspect of our stay was 'second to none'. Very reasonably priced. The owners should be justifiably proud of what they have achieved at their hotel. Lynmouth is a beautiful area, especially for walkers. Would recommend the 'Rising Sun restaurant' for a good quality... more
