Location to die for. Perfect place to have a few pints of exmoor gold on a evening after a good day of walking. The fish and chips served where superb the fish was the largest I've ever had and was cooked perfectly. Looking forward to my next visit

We stayed for one night during a recent return to England holiday from Australia. I know this area extremely well having worked there during my childhood holidays over 30 years ago. We had visited Lynmouth many times over the years but not stayed there. We knew of the Red Lion. This is a lovely, quaint and genuine “olde worlde” pub... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We feel very privileged to be located in such beautiful settings and are always glad to hear our customers agree. We are very proud at The Rising Sun of our beautiful old building with crooked staircases, narrow passage ways, and sloping floors and low beams, all of which help in... More

We have eaten here before, but this was the first time we stayed here. It won't be the last. Everything was wonderful from start to finish, commencing with the personal phone call, following my booking, to check my requirements. We had a ground floor room, with a lovely view of the sea and hills. A large bed, and beautifully appointed... More

Stayed here a Saturday night with friends and 4 dogs between us. Couldn't have been more accommodating with the dogs and although we couldn't book a table in the restaurant we didn't have to wait too long for a table in the bar to eat dinner. Very good food, would recommend the roasted seafood and the lamb. Rooms were nicely... More

We only visited this pub on a whim, mainly to get out of a sudden downpour! But boy were we lucky... The pub was welcoming, friendly and busy, we decided to order food as the people on the next table were raving about it. We really enjoyed our sharing platter and thai mussels, so much so that on our return... More
