My wife and I visited the hotel for an evening meal. We sat outside for a few pre-dinner pints and enjoyed the wonderful views. The food was absolutely amazing. We enjoyed all of our courses and the service was fantastic. We would come to lynmouth again just to eat here!

My Husband and I stayed at the Rising Sun for 3 nights from 9th to 12th July. We paid £345 for our stay. Our room was very small. The bed was also very small. We were unable to eat in the restaurant due to poor organisation by the staff. There are better places to stay in Lynmouth which have far better... More

Picture postcard setting by the sea, bit difficult parking during the day because of the tourist in the village. However, the reception was excellent and the room had a lovely sea view. Rooms are petit, but that was OK - bathroom was clean and modern. The bar was busy and there was a great atmosphere. The best part of the... More

If you are visiting Lynmouth then a visit to the Rising Sun is a must. Food was fab - crab slate is a must. Def want to go back. Staff we're welcoming and service first class. Dogs are welcome. A good old fashioned pub serving good food - a hard find these days

The last part of the 2 Moors Way into Lynmouth is very tough and we were very glad to see the Rising Sun !! Everyone was friendly and welcoming and, after squeezing up the narrow staircase, we were shown into a very well-appointed room with a lovely view of the harbour. We sat outside in the sun for drinks before... More

We have just returned home having stayed at the Rising Sun for the weekend. I know the weather helps (it was great) but everything about the pub/hotel/restaurant was 'on the money'. Friendly and efficient staff, whether they were locals or from Spain/Hungary/etc. Nice room with harbour/sea view, good ensuite, quality bedding and very clean. Breakfast was first class, I had... We have eaten here before & were not disappointed by this return visit. We chose to eat in the bar so as you can't book we had a short wait but this is to be expected when the food is so good. We selected three dishes for a seafood feast of local crab, mussels & prawns which we shared with wonderful... More

Last minute booking due to being let down by another hotel, staff were really welcoming and upgraded our room to a seaview as we were on our honeymoon. Can't fault a thing; room was small, as you would expect from a property of this age, but absolutely spotless and well-equipped. Amazing view over the harbour both from our room and... More

Popped into this hotel's bar for a bite to eat. My wife had a lovely prawn sandwich and I had the mussels in cider & cream with smoked bacon. The mussels were probably the best I've ever had and, even though I'd only order the "starter" it was a really big dish (over 20 mussels!). Staff were friendly and service... More

We were welcomed with very polite and friendly staff before actually checking in into our room. 2 hours later when we decided to check in the staff were still lovely.. The room was slightly small but very clean and well decorated along with a beautiful sea view. Breakfast was very generous. Started with cereals followed by a good selection of... More
