On behalf of our walking party from Gerrard cross in Buckinghamshire. We'd like to express our gratitude for all 14 of us that enjoyed the hospitality, tasty genourous food portions at breakfast. Very comfortable rooms and the view from our windows were delightful! The owner were so kind and even dried off our wet walking clothes (on the couple of... More

Small room but clean and tidy, a little bit dated, breakfast wasn't great we had the full English which was quite basic, tomatoe, fried egg, cheap sausage and a slice of bacon. We have had better from a cheaper b&b. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

Quaint old house and a good base for a day or so. Cliff is an interesting guy with a good back story. Rooms are basic and comfy. Nice breakfast too. Nice welcome and farewell. I rather liked its eccentricity.

We booked 2 nights here. The room was large and had a nice view of the garden. The owners greeted us very warmly especially Josie, who was charming and funny. Yes, it was old fashioned place but that did not bother us. What do you expect when staying in such an old house. The garden was a riot of colour... More

the rate £60 for a double room seemed reasonable, however, on reflection was extortionate! On arrival we did not really feel welcome. In fact, the owner gave the impression he was doing us a favour. We were advised how busy they were and asked us to be down for a full breakfast for 8 15 am. This we would have... More

Great B&B, very homely. Our host, Cliff was very welcoming and a great source of local knowledge. The B&B was very comfortable and clean. We had a lovely full English breakfast and also a cream tea on the day of our departure.

Charming, quaint old house, full of character filled with beautiful antiques. Had a lovely 5 night stay in our balcony room overlooking the pretty garden and river Lyn. Spotless rooms, generous breakfasts, unbelievably cheap for this value and service! We will be comming to The Captain's House next spring!

Me and my fiancee spent four days in The Captain's House. The house is very "english" and unique and the owners are amazing. They are ever so friendly! We have been here befor but we wanted to come back. Clifford told us where to go and we wish we could have stayed longer!

Thank you for my wonderful stay in this "Old World Charm" Guesthouse! What a stunning setting and beautiful room looking out over the river. I especially loved the Tea Garden with all the beautiful flowers! The breakfast was delicious and Josie and Clifford were very friendly and helpful. I'm looking forward to coming again to this delightful place!
