We couldn't have asked for a better welcome from our landlady Denise. After talking to her it was like we had known her for years!! We booked the small room, Denise asked if we knew this we said yes, she did offer us a bigger room but it was fine. It was small but had an amazing shower and was spotlessly... More

We were lucky enough to get 2 nights during the main summer holidays. The owner warned us that it was a small room, but we didn't mind as the stay was only a short one. The room was at the back of the building so no view, but was very comfortable. Ensuite was a shower, with a powerful electric shower.... More

This guest house is full of character from a bygone age. Old beams and tilting floors add to a wonderful experience. Denise meets you with the most fantastic welcome making you feel at home right from the start. Her local knowledge is outstanding as she happily explains the places of interest to visit and the easiest routes to get there.... More

After hiking 15 miles on the Southwest Coast Path from Combe Martin, we were mainly just happy to see a bed! The room was fine and we really only just slept there - but it was tiny and a little bit dusty. Having said that, it was the quintessential country B&B complete with kitsch decorations and nestled into the hillside.... More

Thank you for a lovely stay to celebrate my Birthday with friends. We stayed 3 nights, and Denise and Geoff made us feel very welcome. The room with had (4) was very clean, and had a comfortable bed, and plenty of refreshments were left in the room. Breakfast was plentifull, with Denise asking if we needed any extra toast etc.

We stayed here for one night which a birthday surprise from my partner on May 28th 2014. I was really pleased with the stay overall, the owners were very friendly, the breakfast was perfect and the room very comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean and there was no need for us to worry about our 'phobia' of unhygienic previous tenants! Book... More

We stayed for 4 nights at Hillside House. Denise and Geoff are very friendly and made us and our dog very welcome. They have a cute Border Terrier called Bertie so it really is a dog friendly place to stay. Our en-suite room was clean and comfortable and had plenty of room for our dog and all of his things!!!...
