The staff were wonderful - very friendly and helpful. Lovely hotel full of character and a wonderful alternative to an impersonal room in a chain hotel. Food was great - only had breakfast there unfortunately - and the location was excellent.

We stayed under the travelzoo offer - £99 for a double room, taster menu and breakfast. Room was fine, dinner was excellent, as was breakfast. Service was friendly, considerate and helpful. In addition, the hotel is close to the city centre, yet so quiet. Its located around a pleasant square, where there's no through traffic. A really peaceful spot. Parking... More

We were only on a one night stay with a taster menu at dinner and full breakfast. On arrival the staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations of what to do and see. The evening taster menu was as good as we have ever had anywhere. The hotel had lots of character and the room was well equipped, spotless and... More

we booked this hotel when staying in Exeter as had tried the Olive Tree restaurant previously and wanted to eat here again so thought we would try the hotel. It is an independently run business and staff are friendly and very helpful - dare I say but the accommodation we stayed in is a bit tired but very comfortable and... More

We stayed one night for £99 with Travelzoo. This included a 7 course taster meal each and breakfast. The food was lovely and the service excellent. Our room was large and comfortable. Lovely hotel close to the museum and shopping. Well recommended and a bargain at £99 for 2 people.

We stayed just one night midweek in August on a Travelzoo offer of bed and breakfast with 6 course taster evening meal. This 3 star hotel has an excellent restaurant with exquisite food. Both the taster evening meal and the breakfast were superb. The location is good being just a short distance from both rail stations and just 8 minutes... More

Reception area could be smarter and does not do the hotel justice. The owners or managers could be friendlier but the staff were very friendly. Excellent breakfast & service. Good location. Would stay there again.

We stayed here for 1 night only with a 6 course tasting menu and full English breakfast on a Holiday Club voucher. The front facing room may have been on the small side, but perfectly comfortable and very quiet, you would not think you were so close to a city centre! The bed was extremely comfortable and I had the... More

The hotel claims to have "Spacious" rooms and offer "free homemade biscuits".Our room, 302 was not spacious and did not have home made biscuits. The shower was tempermental running hot, cold and stopping. In contrast the restaurant was excellent with the food first class.Apart from the second morning of our stay when i think we were forgotten, the service was... More

We stayed at the Queens hotel on our way to Cornwall. The hotel was a bit worn, but overall a very pleasant stay, very good for the price. Location near the city centre, but not close enough to find noise or other activities disturbing. Excellent breakfast.
