Rather run down and shabby, very frayed round the edges! However the bed was comfortable and the bathroom and room clean. Bar would have been ok 50 years ago. Hotel needs a good make over, channel 4 TV take note. Breakfast was ok, had worse. The breakfast waiter was the least lively I have ever encountered, but then if I... More

This really was a unappealing hotel - shabby, distinctly seedy feel, poorly furnished and decorated, scruffy restaurant, pokey and uncomfortable room, shower dripped all night, no chair, nowhere to put wash things. No lift; no offer of help with luggage. I can't remember an hotel that I've disliked more! The breakfast was, I suppose, edible, but unexciting and barely a... More

This is a budget hotel aimed those looking for price above quality - think contractors/reps travelling on a daily allowance or party groups at the weekend. So if you are expecting a great hotel for a bargain price think again. BUT -- it does what it does well enough Rooms were all tatty and in need of TLC BUT clean... More

Avoid at all costs! Staff unfriendly and unhelpful, pay for parking on top of paying £90 for a dirty rubbish room. Told you can't have your volume any higher than its preset at! Ceiling fell in on my partner in the shower! Run down dirty grubby old mans pub with rooms above it. Run for the hills before staying here!

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this hotel to attend an Exeter University Open Day. Hotel generally- Postitives: Location - Couldn't be better for train, bus and taxi services. Breakfast - Acceptable food, although the 'waiters' weren't the friendliest. Breakfast is served in what doubles as a Chinese restaurant so our full English was accompanied by... More

Paid £42 per night (with breakfast) for a 2 night stay. Room decor was tired but clean. Breakfast was excellent , although dining room could do with a good tidy up. All the staff i encountered were very nice and helpful. If you want 5 star this probably is not the place for you , but for those on a... More

The carpet was threadbare, there were literal holes in the middle of the room, which was quite cold in itself. The furniture and decor was dated, scuffed paint with that dodgy 1970s veneer going on. Onto the positives! The bed was very comfortable, I actually quite like having a sink in the bedroom too. There was a lot of storage,... More

This excuse for a hotel has to be high on any list of the world’s worst hotels, but in reality to give it the credence of the name ‘hotel’ is a misnomer. The internal appalling state of repair of The Great Western the gives the impression of a now closed and derelict homeless hostel, with its peeling, flaking paintwork falling... More

Hotel is in a great location with easy access to transport links. Parking is reasonable at £7.20 per day. Hotel looks and feels a little dated and some areas could do with a makeover. However, all the room and the public areas are clean. Room was quite adequate in size with tea/coffee and biscuits, ample storage space, TV, hair dryer,... More

Hotel is in a very good location, just near to st david's station and easy access to airport bus and other city bus. Wifi is free and pretty good. They offer English breakfast (included in price) and was pretty decent and filling. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Had good sleep. Only thing I did not like is they don't have... More
