Our stay in the Benedene was alright, yet there is room for improvement in terms of the welcome guests receive. All of our party (a group of 10, mostly couples) agreed that check-in felt a little bit like an imposition on the lady I presume owns the Benedene (we were not provided with her name). A simple welcome, how was... More

I stayed with 2 other people in room 14 which was located in the attic of the building - on the 3rd floor. We did not know we would be booked into the bendene as we were with a tour group, and our accommodation was booked by the tour company. If I read all these reviews beforehand, I would have... More

Lovely & clean B&B with tasty breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. Located on quiet side street with parking at back, on roadside or in car park opposite which is free at night and has lots spaces. Pool added bonus as was lovely & sunny when we arrived. Only short walk to city centre & cathedral area. Could do... More

We were coming down to Exeter to visit our daughters living in St. Davids. The hotel is situated in a beautiful part of town with lovely streets and stylish buildings all around. Reception was friendly and very personable. Room was on the ground floor but beautifully clean and tastefully decorated. There was real coffee in the room. Lovely bed and... More

The very abrupt & unfriendly attitude of the rotating staff is the major flaw of this B&B. The location is good, it's clean and the breakfast was good, but the service just awful. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

I called ahead to book a room and negotiated what I thought was a reasonable rate for two nights b and b. On arrival the girl had no record of the rate I had agreed and I had to pay more. In order to stay within my tight budget i subsequently had to forgo breakfast. 10 o'clock check out is... More

Our stay at the Bendene hotel was ok. When we arrived, our welcome was not very pleasant and until we met another lady who worked there in the morning I was about to write a bad review, but she was actually nice. Rooms were ok, can do with a make-over especially the woollen blankets. Location was good, very central. Breakfast... More

Very small room and photos misleading. Breakfast period only 45 mins and was not offered breakfast after this period. Hotel says free parking on their site but was advised by hotel to park at a pay and display car park nearby. People not friendly.

The location of the Bendene hotel is excellent, a short walk from the town centre and yet in a quiet side street, so not bothered by traffic noise. Our room was small with two single beds, but the bath room was nice and spacious. We had a quiet room at the back overlooking the pool. Unfortunately the mattresses on the... More

This place is not value for money. The decor needs updating. Beds really really soft. Bath towel just about big enough to wrap around a small child. Hospitality tray in the room was not replenished and only enough shower gel, shampoo and conditioner for 1 person for 1 day. The breakfast was okay but cold, toast was cold and not... More
