I have just returned from a business trip to Exeter and stayed here. The hotel is excellent - well maintained and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and efficient throughout the property. The room was well decorated with all amenities which you could want - coffee machine, TV, iPad, air conditioning and very comfortable beds! The rooms are spotlessly... More

Great hotel with a trendy atmosphere just a short walk from the city centre. The garden and terrace are a huge bonus for a city hotel, and the inside/outside swimming pool is lovely and warm and a great place to sit out and relax. The room was well appointed, but try to avoid the ground floor executive rooms facing the... More

We stayed for one night which I wish we could have extended. The hotel is superb looking and tranquil in feeling. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and modern with an excellent shower and great lighting system. We were handed an iPad for the room which was novel and handy. We got up early for a... More

This hotel is a great old building cleverly modernised to provide an trendy bar, restaurant and hotel rooms. The feature room we had was spacious and overlooking the garden, but seemed a lot of money at £280. Breakfast was disappointing and as it was lovely and sunny outside the restaurant was way too hot. The location was good for the... More

Thank you for your review and I am disappointed to read that you felt it was disappointing for children. We very much welcome children therefore I would be very interested to know where you thought we fell short. If you could spare a few moments to call me at the hotel I would be very grateful? We normally get positive... More

This is my second time staying; the first time was leisure, this was business, so I have reviewed from that perspective. First off, parking: there are literally about ten parking spaces, and if you don't get one you'll be paying around £10 a day in the car park next door. There was a mix-up with the booking which the staff... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay and I am very pleased that you enjoyed all elements of the hotel. The pool is fun so perhaps something for a future stay! I am sorry you found reception not to your liking. As our check in lap tops operate via wifi which works perfectly well throughout the... More

The is a gem of a hotel in the heart of Exeter. Lovely, relaxing space with a spa and pool, great rooms with a free mini bar and excellent customer service. The menu looked good through we only had breakfast which was better than average. It's very central and close to the cathedral Well worth a visit.

My experience here really did wax and wane. The reception staff weren't great (both on check in and check out). On check-in, I was told I had to pay up front as I'd used "booking.com" (said in such a way to suggest that all users of this website are not to be trusted!). Then on check-out, it was suggested that... More

Thank you for your review and I am sorry to read you had mixed feelings about the hotel, although I note your comment about the quality of the food which I am pleased about. I appreciate our check in is very far from the traditional check in desk but I am pleased to say that generally our guests like the... More

This hotel and the restaurant were great. We used it as a stopping point between London and Cornwall. Outside it looks like a great old building but inside it is very modern. The restaurant food was very good. Almost made us want to stay longer in Exeter

We needed to find somewhere to stay for one night and this place looked nice on the internet. Well we weren't disappointed. Upon our arrival the staff were excellent. We we're booked in in no time and also with a reservation for dinner and with an IPad at hand which had all the hotels informations saved in it and with... More

It may not be located in the most attractive part of Exeter, but it's a beautiful building, an easy walk both to town & waterfront, and rather a destination in its own right. The lofty ceilings and large windows fill the interior with natural light, and the beautifully kept walled garden offers real tranquility. The indoor outdoor pool is the... More
