On reading the past reviews its difficult to decide if this place is good or not so good, but we throughly enjoyed it, nothing was too much trouble. The room was excellent with good facilities and a nice bath to soak in. Personally I loved all the public spaces and there was a good buzz about the place. We eat... More

My fiance and I decided to treat ourselves to a night away after a christmas party. I have heard rave reviews about this place from friends who have ate or had a spa day at this hotel. The room was nice, had plenty of modern facilities and a very comfortable bed! The room was also pretty quiet despite being on... More

This place is refreshingly great, modern and cool (not pretentious at all)! The location is great, right near the centre of town and close to the lovely quay area. We had dinner and breakfast. Dinner was good, breakfast was great, both continental and cooked options. My husband reckoned it was the best cooked breakfast he had ever had. Rooms are... More

We stayed here for my husband's 60th birthday earlier this month. This was supposed to be a sumptuous surprise for him. Had he assumed I had booked him into the Nuffield when he woke in the morning, he would have been forgiven. This type of modern, chic, boutique hotel is just silly. This plays to the whims of those who... More

From the open reception area, where check in is conducted around a wooden sculpture/table, to the guest service iPad and in room technology, this hotel is uncompromising in it's modernity and friendly efficiency. The decor is uncluttered modern with stylish furniture - not at all antiseptic. My career took me to some of the very best hotels in the world... More

An interesting Hotel. Little or no parking so unless you are lucky to get one of the half dozen parking places you will have to leave your car down the road in a pay and display car park. Pleasant greeting and simple check in process which is nice. Room was ok - fairly typical of a boutique hotel. Room lights... More

This review covers only 'lunch'. However... The public rooms vie with the original hospital's as to which are/were the more sterile. From the lack of parking facilities to the bleak, harsh furnishings, nothing welcomes to you to this building. We had arranged to meet friends for lunch (our known, preferred venue was closed for refurbishment so decided to try somewhere... More

We booked a special January break which included an awesome breakfast spread with everything cooked theatre style as in the evening, and a treatment each day. We were upgraded, on arrival and were lucky enough to park all but once. The staff are what make this hotel superb but coupled with an extensive hardback library, great contemporary decor, truly lovely... More

We stayed for 2 nights for New Year. Fantastic hotel that I highly recommend. Fabulous atmosphere, relaxed, warm, clean, welcoming, classy venue with excellent, friendly, professional & helpful staff. Doggie friendly too. 5 mins walk from the town & quayside, with reasonably priced fabulous food, cool spa & beautiful clean contemporary rooms. 10/10!! Will return again & again.. No need... More

We stayed here for one night on our way back from Cornwall. The hotel is in an excellent location close to the city centre although a drawback is the very limited parking and we had to use the public car park over the road. The overall ambience of the hotel is excellent and it reminded us of a number of... More

Thank you for your review and I am pleased that in the main you enjoyed the hotel. I am of course sorry that you were disappointed with the size of the room and the food. The Restaurant is not normally closed on a Sunday. We tend to have our Christmas Party on the first Sunday of January and we get... More
