My parents and children and I arrived at Larkbeare Grange on the return from our holiday in Cornwall. After the beauty of St. Ives, etc., it would have been easy to be disappointed. On the contrary, this overnight stay turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. We drove down a country lane and up the daffodil... more

My wife and I stayed here based on reviews of the Internet. We are from Brisbane, Australia and had no idea of the area. The stay was relaxing and friendly. We had some concerns with our train travel to Paris, and Julia was only too willing to help us sort it out. The room was spacious and 5 star, as... more

I selected this B&B based on the reviews on the website and it didn't disappoint. The location although isolated, is beautiful. The welcome from Julia was wonderful, I had been driving all day and was shattered, a little TLC was required and that is just what I got. The room was spacious and the bathroom lovely, I had a comfortable... more

We stayed for 2 nights whilst visiting relatives in the area. Julia and Charlie are the most charming hosts. The rooms are a delight, clean and pleasantly furnished. The bed was the most comfortable ever encountered on our travels! Breakfast and afternoon cream tea (locally sourced) - lovely. There is one large table for breakfast which might not suit everyone... more

Charming B and B approx 15 minutes from Exeter, in the middle of nowhere! House stunning, decor 1st rate, owners charming. £110 for the large double, reasonable value with a top notch breakfast. It is very much a family concern so definitely suits people not looking for the privacy of a hotel, we did not find them intrusive at all... more

My mother and I had a 2 night stay at Larkbeare Grange in early June. I chose this B&B based on the outstanding reviews here on Trip Advisor. A small part of me was worried that it couldn't possibly live up to the hype. I was wrong, not only did it live up to its reputation, it exceeded it. We... more

We chose Larkbeare from the TripAdvisor site, looking for somewhere as a real treat over the bank holiday weekend near to Exeter where we were seeing friends. The reviews made it clear that the place is special, added to that the recommendations from Alastair Sawdays books we considered ourselves lucky to get a room at relatively short notice. From the... more

We looked forward to returning, seen as we had such a lovely stay before and we were not disappointed, still as wonderful as last time if not better! Charlie and Julia are... more

We headed down for some badger watching for my 40th birthday. We wanted somewhere nice to stay. We certainly found it! Arrival was superbly supervised by Joanna before handover to Julia. The house was gorgeous, great view from the light, bright room. We felt totally welcome and Charlie invited us to the village fete so that we could find some... more

We elected to stay in East Devon for a long weekend and booked three nights at Larkbeare Grange. We were led to expect something very special by the reviews on this site and elsewhere…and our expectations were exceeded in every respect! Charlie and Julia are the most charming of hosts and their hospitality from the outset left us feeling like... more
