The room did not smell very pleasant and the bathroom had black mould on the tiles. Please, come on, it doesn't take long to take it off and keep it clean if maintained properly, regularly! The pillows were waifer thin and the sofa in the room was stained. On the plus side the lady at check in was very polite... More

Oh dear Travelodge - you used to be our destination of choice but now we prefer the Premier Inn. I wouldn't say it was awful, but like some other recent reviews, agree it just needs sprucing up and modernising. In spite of being in what would appear to be the middle of a traffic island as you pull into the... More

The room was extreemly shabby, and it needed urgent decorating. It was in a central location for what we wanted, but would not go there again unless there was nothing else.

We stayed here (2 adults, 2 children - aged 2 and 6) for one night, and I am very glad it was only for one night! The whole travelodge needs a refurb - black mould on the windows (and wood cracking), filthy carpets (my youngest found something that looked like rabbit droppings under the sofa), dirty bathroom, the list could... We spent two nights for a stag party. The Travelodge was fine for the price, not the cleanest place on Earth but served it's purpose and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is conveniently located for us when we visit relatives in the area, so we have stayed there several times in the past couple of years. The reception staff are always polite and very helpful, and are a credit to the place. However, the rooms are starting to look shabby and tired and have some real (if minor) defects,... More

Having read the other reviews, I would like to say that my stay at the Exeter Travelodge was not bad at all. It is a very busy one, but the mature female on reception was very efficient and friendly. It is located at the services which can be a bonus as there are lots of opportunities to buy food/drinks etc.... More

When booking a Travelodge, it would be unreasonable to expect anything much more than a clean and tidy room for the night. A good job, then, that my expectations weren't any higher than that. But did I expect three drill holes in the wall where the bedside table should have been? Was it unreasonable to be disappointed that the curtains... More

The room felt unclean, stains on carpets and on sofa bed. Odd handles on furniture etc. Expectations weren't high to begin with, but this surpassed them in terms of the s**t factor. Bed was clean, mattress was new and comfy. This hotel needs to be burnt down or completely renovated. We would not stay there again. Stayed at two other... More

The room was large and only £23 but I think that's the only positive points. Old, worn, dirty, mouldy, cracked, mattress sagged severely in the middle. Wouldn't recommend
