We stayed in Room 22 in ‘the original part of the hotel’ (the newer part could be entirely different) and it was truly horrible. It was old, small, worn, shabby, grubby, stuffy, airless. The beds were old iron bedsteads (with mattresses !). There were even milk stains on the wall behind the bedside cabinet nearest the window. No tissues. No... More

We descended the White Hart with 11 Hungry people looking for somewhere to have a nice meal and a good beer. They were all from Scandinavia as well (bar 1 local) and so this was one of their first experiences of a proper British pub. The Barman offered them testers of the ales to choose the ones they wanted, and... More

Just returned from a 2 night break with my husband. The hotel is in a fantastic location for both the centre of Exeter (cathedral only 4 mins walk) and the Quay which is literally 2 mins away, we parked our car in the free car park and didn't have to use it again until we were leaving. Our room was... More

We stayed one night in this quirky old coach house inn. On arrival the staff were very pleasant and we were pleased with the size of the room. However the room itself was dated and did show some signs of damage and the need for an update of the decor. We used the pub downstairs for dinner and ordered steaks... More

Good comfy room very close to town, welcoming reception, free parking which was a bonus. Breakfast delicious which was included too. Would stay there again. Walked into centre of town which took about 8 minutes which was great for choice of restaurants and beautiful cathedral.

As other correspondents observe this is an old coaching inn, full of character and quirkiness, such as bars on either side of the central alleyway which was presumably once the entrance for horses. The bedrooms are of reasonable size and mine on the 4th floor had a bay window. The bathroom looked as if it had recently been refurbished; it... More

We only stayed the one night. The staff are great and it is in an excellent location. it has a lovely feeling to it and the bar is great. Breakfast was also superb. Our room would benefit from a memory foam topper on the matress however as the bed was like concrete. Apart from the lack of sleep We would... More

We stayed for two nights in room one. Excellent if you want to be in the City - Cathedral five minutes walk. Parking included. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Breakfast average. Our room faced the car park and road and was noisy. wi fi was not working properly on 28/3/15. Dreadful noise from water pipe when we had a... More
