Two friends and I have just returned from a most enjoyable trip to Exeter. This was in good measure due to the White Hart - excellent location, friendly, amenable staff (thanks especially to Elle at reception who was always so helpful), and the attractive 'Secret Garden' where you could relax with a drink or three. Yes, the décor was a... More

The whole location is nicely set up and all amenities are available. Food is good and there was always enough space. The bed was a bit small for two people though. Other minor issues: there was also only instant decaf on the room with only one mug provided. The TV reception was horrible and totally unwatchable. However, good enough for... More

Better than average, good is the appropriate rating. Nice staff, very helpful especially the scotswoman. The place could do with a freshen up decor wise. We stayed in the main pub building which was nice. Easy to park the car, no charge. Breakfast was a bit of a let down, only average. Good value for money. Would stay again.

Just come back having stayed two nights in the White Hart for a weekend break. Biggest plus points for me were the consistently friendly, polite and attentive staff. Thank you. Also the room was clean. However, lots of little minor irritants that made me mark the hotel down. Open biscuit pack in my room on first night, no top up... More

Dropped in for a pint late Thursday, friendly staff and cosy atmosphere. Very old coaching house, worth a visit to this independent pub. They had moretti on draft, very good. I'll book there next time to stay rather than the national hotel chains

Visited this Hotel with a friend a couple of nights ago for a meal. Didn't appear to be very busy and they only had one of the bars open. Easily found a table and chose our meal. You have to go to the bar to order and pay which I did but AFTER ordering and paying and been given our... More

stayed here for one night Aug 2014 - new part of hotel. Room clean, nice bathroom and good beds. The pub itself is a fantastic old place, all nooks and crannies and divided by a central cobbled courtyard. Fascinating place that has not been modernised to death. Good range of beers and food adequate ( made more attractive by 20%... More

Hi Keith, Thank you for taking time to review us. The White Hart is a very old building and most is listed. It has plenty of character and is a very big sprawling building. The White Hart is not a new modern hotel and neither should it be. Steeped in history with lots of stories to tell! We look forward... More

This is a lovely old coaching inn very close to the cathedral in Exeter. The food is very nicely presented and also tastes good which is a good plus point. (You also get 10% off food if you stay at the hotel.). I wouldn't bother with the upgraded room as the standard rooms are off a decent enough quality to... More

I've been staying here with years, the first time with family and then in later years with friends or even alone. It's great value for money, free parking and atmosphere oozing out of the walls. The rooms in the new block are a bit dull but I ask for, and so far have always got, a room in the old... More

Hi Jane, First and foremost its fantastic that you are a regular guest. Value for money is our goal. We are very different from the other City Centre hotels and we believe the whole offer of parking and breakfast included in an unbeatable price is what sets us apart. Our rooms are all very different due to the nature of... More
