At a time when hotels from Dubai to Los Angeles all seem much the same, this one is different and has real character. We found the hotel to be beautiful in its style and fashion and the service to be excellent. We can very strongly recommend it. (Prof.) Frederick Toates (Dr.) Olga Coschug-Toates

Beautiful bedroom, fantastic staff, brilliant breakfast, town centre parking. Within 5 minutes walk to Exeter Cathedral. I cannot praise this fabulous hotel highly enough. It was just perfect. The range of shopping in Exeter was a pleasant surprise along with quaint old alleys and attractive boutiques, restaurants, museums and pubs with the area around the cathedral as a star attraction... A relaxing laid back hotel, slightly tired more shabby than shabby chic but nonetheless enjoyable very nice breakfast.well cooked and lots of choice . Friendly staff very helpful. Restaurant closed on Sunday evening so cannot comment on the standard of evening menu. Slept well as our room was in a quiet situation overlooking the garden and medieval building. Parking available... More

Spent the weekend in Exeter relaxing, with the help of the delightful St Olaves Hotel. Great location in the city centre with free parking (invaluable). The room was first class, all mod cons, the staff were helpful and the service superb. The breakfast was superb in a comfortable and relaxing environment, then, late morning simply relax in the lounge with... More

My wife and I stayed for one night while passing through the area. We'd last used this hotel about 18 years and two owners ago! It was as nice as we remembered it, with some improvements. The convenience of a car park in a city centre is well worth a good rating. The hotel is ideally situated for pottering about... More

If you like quirky, then you'll love this hotel. It is nothing like the photo on the website (a clever use of lens methinks) but it IS a tucked away gem of a place in the middle of Exeter city. There is a small quadrangle of ground for "first come first served" parking bays, that is in turn surrounded by... More

This hotel interior is very comfortable for a tourist stay of 2 nights. Breakfast is exceptionally good; I did not realize how good until I compared it to offerings at other B&B hotels. The hotel exterior is a bit shabby and there was construction to extend a section of the hotel, but that did not interfere with our stay. When... More

This is a perfect hotel. I have stayed in all hotels in exeter and this one is by far the best for me. I am 63 and so is my wife and this hotel has pretty much everything you need for a quite romantic break. Its perfect value for money and the staff really do bend over backwards to help... More

We booked a room for four nights and received the worst room in the Hotel. Not as shown on the lovely photographs. Other guests who booked for shorter time were given much better rooms. Our room was decorated black with black furniture. No drawer space. Bathroom down three very narrow, dark steps with light at the bottom and no hand... More
