Stopped here for 4 weeks during the week with work and every morning there was lorries unloading into the hotel from a side street from 6.10am onwards which keeps up one side of the hotel. Also parties/proms/functions often keeps people awake till the early hours. If you got more than 5 hrs sleep a night you were lucky. I complained... more

When we arrived at the Rougemont Hotel there was a school prom being held and the foyer was packed with excited teenagers and the carpark was full so we had to park at a nearby multi storey overnight. When i booked the hotel it would have been nice to have been warned about the prom and I was told that... more

Stayed here on business for a week. Good sized rooms with all mod cons. quite small restaurant, but posh food (Gordon Ramsey was eating in here the week before, so has to be good!). Large lobby area and friendly/helpful staff. Downstairs bar that serves good food as well. Hotel not right in the heart of Exeter but only a 5... more

The room was not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel and if you are at the side of the hotel like I was the noise from a nearby club was annoying. You could hear every sound of people walking on the floor above and two of the light bulbs needed replacing. I went down to breakfast at... more

Booked this hotel for a two night business trip. The first night I was given a room at the back of the hotel which was ok, not bad or good. The problem was at 9pm the Angel pub which was directly opposite my room started playing loud music outside on their terraces which went on until 1am. No chance of... more

Stayed for work. Upon arrival the lobby looks nice, however, check-in was bit slap-dash and no one helped me to my room with my suitcase. I am only a slight girl and had to haul it up stairs to my room by myself! Room was spacious but very dated, def no frills and not what I was expecting. Bathroom not... more

I arrived at the Hotel with my wife and were unable to find a parking space! Went to reception where they were arguing with a Customer, whilst another angry Customer was on their way out to let me have their parking space I said to them, "nice stay?" To which they replied " no awful, dont even think about eating... more

this was meant to be a 4 star hotel and when you walk in it does look this way. The room is below average. A bit like a travel lodge but with dated bathrrom with bad green tiles, a broken shower and not very clean. very disappointed and would have expected more. On the plus side it is in the... more

Why people go into raptures over chain hotels beats me. This is the usual chain hotel of its kind. As with all chain hotelsnowadays, breakfast is pre-cooked and, for me, unappealing. After asking for poached egg, I had to wait twenty minutes because the dining rooms were under-staffed and the staff were serving there and taking breakfast trays to rooms.... more
