The Blue Ball is our local so we often overlook it and travel into Exeter but not last weekend. We took the kids along on a fine Saturday afternoon and enjoyed a wonderful meal whilst the kids played outside on the climbing frame. This is a great place for parents with kids who enjoyed great food and drink. The staff... More

stayed for one night as on business in the area. Price was very reasonable. The room was clean and warm. The bed however was very uncomfortable as I could feel lots of springs in the mattress. Shower was very good but the bath room smelt very musty. Would I stay again? Probably as the location was good and the price... More

The food here is consistently very good and a fault simple menu makes its easy to choose. I come here regularly when passing and have never had a bad plate of food. The young friendly staff and the cosy atmosphere tick all the boxes. Because it's a long narrow building they can accommodate a good number without losing the feeling... More

The pub has been renovated recently and the layout is improved so you can see across the bar area. The salmon fishcakes were crispy and tasty and good potatoes tartare sauce and mushy peas. With the Exeter Chiefs and Pynes Hill offices nearby they should do well.

Called in today for lunch as in Exeter, Yumm... I had the pulled pork burger with chips.. it was absolutely delicious and wished I hadn't eaten my Shreddies for breakfast as couldn't eat it all... The flavour was just delicious. My friend had the Fowey Mussels & said they were divine & wanted to lick the bowl clean of the... More

Friendly service by staff in the pub, own front door to accommodation and very comfortable and pleasant stay, with a large car park and easy access to Exeter, would recommend and would stay again, also restaurant on site and pleasant 17th century thatched building.

Delightful setting and atmosphere on a winters day, warm friendly atmosphere, polite efficient service. Good traditional pub food with homemade desserts, local ice cream or clotted cream with the crust. Price was reasonable and very fair for what was served.

Having visited tonight with a number of friends for dinner, a few of us left very dissapointed. I speak only for my meal, i ordered fish cake to start which was a reasonable crack at a haddock & crab cake, though i could find no evidence of crab, pea puree was lovely though. I followed this with the rack of... More

We stayed here for 5 nights in room 4 for a trade show. The room was clean and tidy. The bathroom was spotless and the shower was fantastic. We had a flat screen TV and tea/coffee facilities. I couldn't fault the staff, very friendly and attentive. The food in the restaurant is really good, with large portions. If I ever... More

This would be at least our third visit to this lovely little inn. We often stop here on our way down to Bude due to the long journey and our room is always ready and they always have a table free for us to have our dinner. The food was lovely and so was the room. The bed was really... More
