We stayed here for 2 nights in October during the food festival - Dartmouth is a lovely town and this hotel is perfectly situated within a 2 minute walk of the river Dart. We thought parking would be a problem but you can park outside (if you can find a spot) between 4pm and 11am for free and the hotel... more

We arrived in Dartmouth on a sunny afternoon when the town was literally overrun with people -- so we grabbed a parking space in the main car park and made our way on foot to the hotel. Our first impression was very positive as we found ourselves smack in the middle of the bar and restaurant area -- trendy decor... more

We had a wonderful stay at Browns - even over a busy Regatta weekend, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, staff made time to talk to us and when asked, made suggestions about local events/places to go which enhanced our stay even further. Their website is very honest in their description of their range of rooms and I would emulate... more

My girlfriends and I came here for dinner last night for Brown's Lobster evening! They have a monthly event, and after attending this and an earlier Tapas event,. I'll be doing my best to get to all the others, including the next Tapas and Tunes night on 30 July!, I started the evening with a couple of incredibly fresh Bigbury... more

My husband and I treated ourselves to a night out for our wedding anniversary. We booked into Browns for DBB. The room was small but gorgeous, everything we needed for our sleepover. The toiletries were heavenly, no little packets of things! The manager asked if we were celebrating (clearly, we looked liked we didn't get out much), when I said... more

Booked in for one night and were given room 7 a Double with a bath and separate shower (upgraded from a shower only). The room faced the back of the hotel and was on the 2nd floor. The age of the building means the access is a bit interesting up two flights of stairs, as it’s obvious that it must... more

The restaurant was excellent and we couldn't fault the friendliness of the staff. BUT, the room certainly wasn't worth £130 for a night's B&B. The bedroom and bathroom had all the fittings one would expect but it's an old building and the floor had a distinct slope, the Saniflow toilet made a terrible racket, and - my pet hate -... more

I decided to book Browns as it was reasonably priced and it seemed quite modern on the website. The room (small double) was clean and comfortable with a very good shower and had some nice shower gels. However, the pub across the road held a disco each night and it prevented me from getting to sleep until 1am due to... more

Would definitely recommend a stay here. Staff very friendly and yes, they do help with bags to the room. We stayed in a Small Double (£85) and it was absolutely fine. Good shower and towels - always important - enough storage for clothes, tea/coffee etc and if you wanted fresh milk it was available downstairs, along with fruit and bottled... more

First impressions were excellent, reception/bar/restaurant are stunning and all finished to a very high standard. Unfortunately the story isn't continued once you head up the stairs to the bedrooms, ours certainly wasn't of the same high standard and definiltey not worth £150/night. Nicely furnished (v comfortable bed!) and good bathroom but just lacked any wow factor, celing had brown water... more
