We had one night's stay in what we were anticipating to be a highlight of our walking week. Unfortunately it was a highlight for all the wrong reasons- the room we stayed in was shabby and the bathroom ceiling had brown water coming through the ceiling dripping on the floor. More ceiling stains above the shower. The curtains wouldn't draw... More

I have to say, the Lasagne I had was very good, a great big dishful and piping hot, and I would happily eat it again. However, I only ended up here because the Hotel at the harbour was very busy, and it was too late to try to find somewhere else and I was starving. I dont know what has... More

We ate lunch at the new inn and would advise not to eat there. We thought we were getting a bargain as we had a buy one get one meal half price voucher from our entry ticket, but the food was terrible. I had chicken and chips, the chips tasted like they had been fried in oil that was days... More

Decided to have our lunch here as we were given a voucher with our admission ticket to Clovelly. Very basic surroundings and fairly ordinary lunch. For such a pretty village with thousands of visitors every year, it seem amazing to me that the real potential of this inn is not being reached.

Our party of 4 stayed one night. Negatives (1) lady at reception was polite and accommodating but rather cold and aloof. Never had a smile, hello or any kind of greeting forthcoming from her. We always greeted her first, and she was not at all busy, no one else around. (2) restaurant closed at 7pm, too early (3) although given... More

Clovelly is a lovely peaceful village with amazing views of the harbour and coastline. We arrived late at night and ventured down the cobbles towards the New Inn. We were welcomed by Andy who was working the bar and by Tom, a local resident who was only too happy to tell us about the village - the perfect welcoming commitee!... More

Booked 1 night for Valentines. A little sceptical because of the poor reviews recently. However, from the moment we arrived, were made to feel very welcome, the pub area was warm and cosy, and a special Valentine's menu was shown to us for that night. The selection on the menu was excellent and reasonably priced, it was hard to choose.... More

We stayed here for a night for my birthday in October 2014. It was cheap to stay here and it was great to be in the village. The room we had was in the pub building with a large comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and a balcony. The room was clean and pleasant but not big. The balcony was an added... More

Recently had lunch here. It was very quiet with just a couple of other people who were not eating. Felt a pint of coke for our driver at £2.90 was a little excessive. We ate from the specials board having been given a 10% of voucher at the visitors centre when we paid our admittance fee. My husband left some... More
