We stayed here for a night for my birthday in October 2014. It was cheap to stay here and it was great to be in the village. The room we had was in the pub building with a large comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and a balcony. The room was clean and pleasant but not big. The balcony was an added... More

Recently had lunch here. It was very quiet with just a couple of other people who were not eating. Felt a pint of coke for our driver at £2.90 was a little excessive. We ate from the specials board having been given a 10% of voucher at the visitors centre when we paid our admittance fee. My husband left some... More

We stayed in in the annex rooms of the New Inn. The room was basic, no TV or ceiling light and although the bed was comfortable it did not have a headboard! The room was clean and tidy and towels were plentiful. We had an en-suite with a decent shower. The room was warm enough with the heat coming from... More

Older pub and very dated. We stayed in room in the pub. Very small and bed not very comfortable. Food was OK and staff friendly and helpful. Staying up the hill at the New Inn you get a far better view than down at the Red Lion at the waterfront. Beautiful town to visit. Access to New Inn by foot... More

When asking an hamburger i got a tiny slice of deep fried hamburger in beteen a bun... I had to squish 2 small plastic bags of ketchup to make it bearable. My friend got sick after eating the jacket potato chicken tikki so avoid the place if you've got working taste buds. Friendly people dough...

Stayed here for a night whilst walking the south west coast path. We were in the rooms across from the Inn, which were clean and practical and whilst not on suite the shared bathroom had recently been redone with a good power shower. The price for the room was appropriate for the style. The breakfast was good, but the evening... More

In such a location you'd expect this to be a thriving , friendly pub. The beers are good but at 8 on a Thursday it was all but deserted and not the most welcoming . Have a beer and head on down to the Red Lion at the harbourside

Just visited the New Inn for a beer at lunchtime when on the coastal footpath. Had a pint of old Appledore. Nectar, just the crisp hoppy style of beer I like, perfectly kept. Highly recommended. Nice comfy bar to sit in as well. The scones on the next table also looked good. My wife had a Cappuccino which she said... More

There are two parts to the New Inn - Rooms 5 and 6 are the best with balconies/views etc. Across the street is further accommodation largely without ensuite facilities. Make sure you know which you are booking! In this respect the services are fine with clean rooms/linen and so on. Breakfast is a fairly average affair with waiter service. Evening... More

Travelling around the UK can be a delight but every so often we are reminded how poor it used to be. The New Inn at Clovelly squanders a great location by being in a 1970's time warp. The bar is dirty and characterless. The evening food menu a dismally short list of warm ups with chips. The residents lounge drab... More
