The rooms are either still in time warp or done up in the best of Dunelm ie cheap prints and see through curtains. Please either do up your bedrooms properly or not at all. Breakfast was off putting - presliced bread and anaemic eggs. more

Basic rooms lacking in finesse, taste, relaxed no-frills welcome.and bill for 2 for a one night stay of £47....did they get it wrong ?? Very noisy pub ..nothing like the pictures on the website and on a saturday night the population of 4 nearby campsites comes to the pub to get wasted. more

Some (slightly hungover) friends and I dropped in for lunch at the Pooley Bridge Inn and found it absolutely fantastic! The food was delicious, and the service was second to none. (A load of guys on their way back from a stag do can't be an exciting prospect, but nothing was too much trouble for the staff.) They were extremely... more

Just to confirm other recent comments - weve just stayed in Pooley Bridge for 6 nights and having tried the food and drink on the first evening, we ate at the Pooley Bridge every night! The new Manager Keith (a chef by trade) and his staff were great hosts, the food is freshly prepared and perfectly cooked, good selection of... more

Having been to the inn in sept 2008 i was reluctant to book again after the previous owners had let the standards deminish.I am glad i did it has changed owners and what a difference it has made smiling faces as you are served and home cooked food not the straight out of the freezer stuff as before freshly cooked... more

We visited Pooley Bridge Inn for a one night getaway. Speaking to management this has recently been taken over (Aug 08). On arrival we were shown to room which was based at the top of this chalet style building. The room although slightly out of date and basic was clean and tidy and the reception was welcoming. The rest of... more

we decided to try the PBI for food one evening and left feeling we had been treated like dogs! We were told as it was 9pm the only food they could serve is pizza. That was fine with us. Having bought a bottle of wine with my partner we sat at a table. When the pizza came we were then... more

The restaurant bills itself as offering "mainly home-cooked food". I would like to know how far in advance the food was cooked. When we arrived, we were rather brusquely greeted and told we had 1 minute to order food with a 'come one, come on' reminder after 30 seconds. After being served a pint of badly kept beer, we went... more

A group of friends and I ate at the restaurant over the Bank Holiday weekend. The main courses and puddings were fine, but at the end of the meal we saw that water was dripping from the ceiling onto our table. After alerting staff, they informed us that the cause was a guest having a shower upstairs with the shower... more
