Deciding on a late anniversary treat, Tintagel was perfect. The Malthouse looked lovely and an enquiry had us being cheerfully shown a choice of rooms - all good looking. We chose the smallest, which was ample for a short stay. Lovely clean white walls and linen, a good shower and comfy bed. Everyone there was friendly and helpful with suggestions... More

We were among a group of 18 people who had a thoroughly great evening at Ye Olde Malthouse Inn last night. Even though it is a fairly small Inn, they managed to get us all seated together. The food was delicious, the service excellent, Cornish Rattler cider, and live music, all combined to make a perfect evening. The weekend was... More

Popped in for a beer or two on Saturday night with friends. Great atmosphere and a fine pint of Proper Job. Landlord was very friendly and a good laugh. Loved the decor in the bar. Will definitely call again when next in Tintagel.

Chanced upon this little gem by accident and happy to congratulate the new owners on having the guts to avoid the wetherspoonian road of death, or not for that matter, dribbling a bit of truffle oil on a plate and laying claiming to that alien and elitist concept the 'gastro-pub'. There is a lot of absolute tosh spoken about the... More

What a transformation! The current owners have taken advantage of the restoration to bring back many of the original features that have been hidden away for many years. The public areas are a joy and very comfortable, it is easy to find a spot to while away a good few hours over a drink or two. The staff are just... More

I stayed here with my partner a year ago,and while i found the room to be of a good standard the food was not good at all.The food was not fresh and extremely over-priced.I understand getting fresh or quality produce in remote areas is difficult, but no excuse especially at the prices.....

The two of us were re-visiting Tintagel and had 7 other family and friends (including two lads, 9 and 11) over from the States, so all told that made for 4 rooms. Booked it for 2 nights about a month in advance, and although I'd seen it from the outside on a previous visit, we hadn't stayed there before. Chose... More

Called in for a pint as we were staying in Tintagel. Wished I hadn't, Only one ale on tap. A sign behind the bar stated that all drinks must be consumed seated! What's all that about, after a day of driving I wanted to stand at the bar, have a pint and a chat. We could do neither. The bar... More

I have stayed here on three occasions as it's value for money with lots of character: cosy, warm, low ceilings and central. Friendly staff, good hearty breakfasts, outside seating area and free parking behind (in a tight car park). Okay, the rooms are not the best: small, cramped, very little storage with uncomfortable lumpy beds, but if you look past... More
