Brilliant place to stay especially when you have a dog! So quiet and relaxing. Beautiful views from room we stayed in. Fantastic walks. Real friendly. Clean and tidy and open. Will definitely stay again:)

From the first time we saw the hotel some 20 years ago we have always wanted to take a peek inside! Booked a well deserved mini break and we're not disappointed. Very friendly greeting on arrival, given a brief guided tour to settle us in then up to our room. We were very pleased to be given a surprise upgrade... More

This is the creepiest hotel I've ever stayed in. It is a total farce trying to masquerade as luxury and authentic. In fact it is old, dirty, worn out and resembles a dormitory more than a hotel. The pipes are exposed, the carpet old and stained, the bed ridiculously uncomfortable. Don't be fooled. This is a creepy, creepy place. The... More

In 1894, A Company was formed by a Sir Robert Harvey, to build Camelot Castle Hotel, which was completed and opened at Easter 1899, taking five years to complete. It became finniest example of English late Victorian architecture designed and built by Silvanus Trevail* himself. Toward the end of his mayoral year in 1895 Silvanus had been contemplating his most... More

We looked in at the hotel last December and decided to extend our holiday in Devon by one night.Unfortunately I was not well on the morning we were to travel there. My husband called them to cancel ,expecting to lose the money paid upfront. How refreshing that they said no problem ,they would send us a credit note ,we could use... More

A very luxurious hotel. One of the best. We had a "Superior" room. Very spacious. Beautiful loo with lovely stone tile. Great view of the coast from our room. The staff are very friendly and attentive. We happended to meet the resident artist and owners. The artist took us on a tour of his studios. The owners were very gracious... More

We came from Australia for a family reunion. From the moment our niece found Camelot Castle on the internet we knew we were in for something different and fun. On arrival we were not disappointed and that remained the case throughout our stay. While all the staff were great we interacted with three in particular who need a special mention,... More

We took a 3 day weekend break at this castle hotel. The twin room was very classic. Nothing special with dark furniture and a fireplace and only one window could be opened, The windows needed a good clean. The lift had a very old system of an internal gate door. We understood the place is currently undergoing renovation but our... More

Having stayed at the castle on 2 occasions 2 years apart I can honestly say that seldom have I experienced service and friendliness like it....Friendly is an understatement, nothing is too much trouble for the staff or the owners who introduced themselves to us and showed a genuine interest in our stay. I do intend to visit the castle again... More

Oh my word! What a creepy experience! The "artist" owner greeted me at the door like a long lost relative and proceeded to show me his art work. He didn't try to flog me any of his paintings though, but I was expecting more than a short chat about Scientology, which they call "Mythology Earth". Whatever, it was creepy and... More

I have just returned from a long weekend in the North Cornwall area. We choose the Camelot Castle has our base for the duration of our stay in the area. We arrived on the Friday at around 2.30pm and our three rooms were not ready. The receptionist asked us to wait in the lounge and asked if we wanted tea... More
