I really don't understand the awful reviews. Yes this hotel is dated but the views across the sea are stunning and the staff are friendly. perfect for one night with our dog. Lots to do near by and great walks right on the door step. Yes some of the art is awful but you've got to be pretty sad to... More

This is my sixth time at this hotel, it evokes another era, and retains many period features like fantastic fireplaces. As a consequence there are downsides just like living in an old house. What do these people want double glazing? This p!ace was built in the 1890s, and I saw the original tiny tiled bathrooms, which have been replaced with... More

Things felt odd from the start here. As a former Los Angeleno and having worked in Hollywood where Scientology was prolific, it wasn't long before I saw the signs of it at Camelot Castle. From the self-aggrandizing hotel 'newspaper' to celebrity photographs with the owners and Kirstie Alley and other celebrity Scientologists to the incongruous gigantic artwork plastering the walls,... We visited this hotel on the 26th may. When we arrived it looked beautiful and we were so excited for our first family holiday with our little boy. Sadly it was ruined from the minute we got to our room. We found our room 201 and the door wasn't even shut properly. It looked like a lovely room and the... More

It is one of those venues you want to give a full 5 star to - however they are still renovating and the parts of the hotel experience (lounge, restaurant, golden bar, staff and management is a 5 star welcome) the rooms, especially bathrooms are in dire need of renovation. However, renovation complete or not, we would stay there again.... More

We have just returned from a three night stay at this dump of a hotel, and I am astounded that some reviewers have given this place 5 stars. My poor husband paid top dollar to take me away for a long weekend, and we could not believe what his £660 bought. Admittedly, the location and views of this place are... More

Beautiful location, amazing views, BUT! The room was VERY dusty and clearly hadn't been tended to properly for some time! windows were filthy around the ledges, carpet did not appear to have been hoovered either?! And as for the 'bathroom'.....if you like mobile home style bathrooms then this is your place! For the money, I'm totally gutted that it was... More

We stayed at this hotel on the 4/5/15 for one night. The views and surrounding areas were great but not very impressed with the hotel, staff helpful and entrance to the main building were amazing but unfortunately the room let us down. Very basic and old fashion, we had high winds which kept us a wake all night sounded like... More

The room was spacious with excellent views from every window. Loved the restaurant and scrumptious food. The staff all made us feel as though we were royalty. Warm and friendly are understatements. We felt everyone bent over backwards to make our stay outstanding. Everything from the four poster bed, to the breathtaking surroundings made this one of our best breaks... More
