What a beautiful spot; the stuff of novels. Breathtaking scenery and an absolute back to nature experience. Perched on the cliff edge with stunning views over the ever changing sea. Cute, cosy cottage with a fabulous kitchen with woodburner to enjoy those stormy evenings (which we had in August thanks to Storm Ellen and previously Storm Dennis). A great base for exploring some of the more ancient aspects of Cornwall and the SW Coastpath is situated behind the hostel so lots of gorgeous walks on the doorstep. Note, this really is not suitable for young children unless they can be trusted not to go near the cliff edge as there is no barrier from the hostel. Also no ball games or any games outside the hostel if you want to ensure your older children/ teens are safe too! A picture perfect spot for the sensible amongst you as the location needs to be respected for what it is - a cliff edge experience at its best. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Rooms are perfect; simple and cosy but access is down long corridors so tricky for wheel chair...

We stayed at Tintagel YHA for 3 nights in the October half term. The Hostel is perched high on the cliff edge and the views of the North Cornish Coast are excellent. Its a self catering hostel but the facilities are superb. Its warm and very comfortable. We had a private room for my family. Volunteer wardens run the hostel and the couple we had were excellent, friendly and very helpful.

What a lovely place to spend the night. Right on the cliff top, we sat outside and watched the sun go down over the sea, glorious unspoilt views. The hostel was very well maintained, clean, with friendly and efficient volunteer wardens on duty. We had a shed to store our bikes too. Well equipped kitchen area.

Absolutely beautiful location with views out to sea. Everything you need provided. Will definitely stay again. Kitchen was fully equipped and clean. Rooms were clean and aired. Barely any noise, and after 10pm,we didn't hear a sound. Beautiful.

We were very pleasantly sarisfited with the location of the hostel. The staff was very kind and helpful. The countryside around the hostel is very beautiful. This accomodation offers very good price to quality value. The road to the hostel is a bit "broken" - there are holes in the road, so drive carefully.

It's tucked away at the end of a rough track, close to the coastal pat, a walk from the castle and overlooking the sea. This is a small hostel but very friendly, comfortable and clean. We will be going back there.

Great hostel to stay in. The location is absolutely perfect right on the cliffs with Atlantic spreading before in all it's glory. Having dinner watching the sunset, I could not stop being grateful for YHA and the opportunity to be able to travel on my own terms. Simple, with kitchen fully equipped with all one needs to prepare a meal and completely disconnect from the rush of the village. Small so that the guests could meet each other and connect if they wanted to.

The road to this Hostel is potholed really bad and getting worse. Not suitable for small car. I've been comming here for years and love the place, great location. Downside is the male dorm. The spring back on door is set to slam and wakes people up all the time. I've mentioned this on many occasions, it gets agreed with, put in the book but never gets done. Not much room to store food when busy. Fridge and freezer comp full when I turned up.

Thank you for your review. Rest assured the repairs to the drive are planned for later in the season and the finance is in place. If you drive slowly the drive is very manageable. I do it every week.

Small and cosy hostel right on the coastal path so only a short walk to the Tintagel Castle area. Stayed in a very nice 4 bedded room overlooking the coastline. The hostel volunteers were friendly and the place was very clean and well organised. A peaceful place to get away from it all and less than a 15 minute walk to Tintagel centre for shops, pubs, cafes, and two convenience stores. We were lucky enough to get a space to park close to the hostel and left our car there until check out. The 95 bus to Boscastle can be caught from the centre of Tintagel, thereby allowing you to travel there and walk the Coastal Path back should you wish.
