For our last night after a week in St Mawes we could not have chosen better. The food was excellent and staff very pleasant and helpful. Parking is in the central car park, for which you have to pay whatever the time. If you visit during the cooler months and want to be sure of a sea view, book a... More

Had a lovely meal here whilst staying over in St Mawes. Great atmosphere - lots of booked tables so if you don't want to take the chance it may be best to ring or call in first first. We didn't and were lucky enough to get a table in the bar area. There aren't many 'pub' options in St Mawes... More

Can't fault the rising sun in any way. from the friendly welcome to the outstanding room and the delicious dinner and breakfast, we were spoiled. We were actually pleased to arrive in pouring rain as it gave us a chance to curl up and read in front of the roaring fire. We were particularly impressed with the friendliness of ALL... More

We booked the family room during the February half term. The room was newly decorated and clean and well appointed, although the tiled area around the bath could be a little better. The pricing was good, the breakfast was excellent - with plenty of choice. Dinner suited our pre-teens better that the other offerings around this beautiful seaside resort. There... More

We had lunch at the Rising Sun the day after New Year. We had a friendly welcome by the barman. Our food did not take long to arrive and it was a nicely prepared. The bar was much busier than the other establishments we had looked at before we decided on the Rising Sun. This was probably due to the... More

We've been staying at the Rising Sun every May for many years. Cornwall is such a wonderful treat after our life in busy New York! Managers Jo and Paul are aways welcoming and will do everything and anything to help. The sweet rooms are very comfortable. Bedding and towels are spotless, bathrooms perfect. My favorite room is Glendurgan. Love the... More

Lovely warm friendly establishment. I would describe it as a good old fashioned Pub where you can stay, meet the locals in the bar, snuggle up by the roaring log fire in the lounge - with your dog - and look out over a traditional fishing harbour as you eat good local food - breakfast extremely good! Fresh milk and... More

For its location alone on a sunny day, the Rising Sun takes some beating. The food is generally good and it is nice to be able to take your dog in with you. The fish and chips are always excellent but the last time that we went, we alaso had soup to start which was awful. The crab bisque was... More
