We went to visit this hotel, it is clean and tidy. Staff friendly but one waitress not very welcoming and when asked about the beauty treatments just told me to ask reception. Another waitress very friendly though and went that extra mile. Hot chocolate was not piping hot as I would like but it was tasty. The scones tasted of... More

We were not staying at the Tresanton but every year we try get seats at their weekend lunchtime BBQ to celebrate our birthdays. Therefore, we have a good knowledge of what to expect and that is normally a truly exceptional BBQ. Unfortunately, that was not the case this time. The BBQ overall was very average. Yes, the Oysters were very... More

What a wonderful experience! I first came to Tresanton in 2000 and finally returned last week with my husband and son. It certainly hasn't lost its edge. The service is second to none, the rooms are beautiful and comfortable. All the staff are attentive without being supercilious, it's old school elegance combined with slick, contemporary service… even my 5 year... More

We have just returned from 2 nights at the Tresanton. We booked rooms 26 and 27. We were advised they were quite high up and that there were quite a few steps up to the rooms. There were.. but it was completely worth it. The views from the lovely balcony were amazing. The rooms were very comfortable and fairly quiet... More

Customer service second to none. Delicious food served in a very well run restaurant under the watchful eye of the maître de, who knows how to engage conversation without being intrusive. However the bedrooms in the main Hotel leave a lot to be desired, cluttered with dilapidated antiques, which in our opinion should be in pristine condition, especially when one... More

We were staying in Portscatho but came across to St Mawes for the day and decided on Hotel Tresanton for lunch. They were very accommodating even with 3 young children (9, 5, and 2). We were put slightly away from other diners on raised platform, which was perfect. Nice large round table as well as sun beds that boys lounged... More

Arrival at the white wall was stressful, the road was worryingly narrow, fringed with sightseers and oncoming vehicles tested my patience. At road level only a simple, tasteful sign on a white washed stone wall indicates that you have reached your destination. There's valet parking at Hotel Tresanton, so if you have managed to pull in on the double yellows... More

Overall a very good expierence. I have a problem with some of the recent reviews talking about shabby decor and not great staff We found the exact opposite Charming and attentive staff and a very stylish hotel. Food was very good. Perhaps a small problem with noisy children but it is middle of summer. My only real criticism was the claim... More

Although we didn't stay here, we were told it was the best place on the south coast of Cornwall to come for afternoon tea so whilst staying in St Austell we headed over to St Mawes to check it out. First off, beautifully landscaped gardens surrounding the many steps from the car park down to the hotel reception but nothing... More

We enjoyed a fantastic Sunday barbecue on the terrace - there was a superb range of both cold and hot dishes to suit all tastes with a number of different salads, prawns, scallops & oysters through to locally produced duck burgers, lamb chops, sausages and steak all cooked on the terrace to your liking. Service is always efficient and friendly... More
