Especially when the seaside is Hotel Tresanton. Completely relaxed from start to finish. Excellent room with terrace overlooking the bay; very good restaurant food; wonderful room service but, without a doubt, the jewel in this establishment are the staff. Discrete and professional from valet parking, housekeeping, maintenance, waiting, cooking, right through to check out.

We started our stay with a cream tea on the terrace to enjoy the views (we live locally but never tire of them) very pleasant with attentive staff. We were shown to our suite in Rock Cottage - all new decoration very tasteful. Delightfully spacious, with decked seating area outside to enjoy the view. Small wood burner in sitting room... More

We spent 3 nights here with a friend who was celebrating a special birthday. The hotel is well situated and the staff were very helpful, knowledgeable and professional. The quality of food was very high, especially the choice of hot dishes at breakfast. When booking, the descriptions of rooms available were presented very clearly. We shall certainly stay here again... More

Is this hotel as good in reality as it appears on it's website? Yes. Definately. We had some reservations that it wouldn't quite live up to expectations but we needn't have worried at all. From the moment we arrived at the front door, we were treated particularly well by the front of house staff and made to feel especially welcome.... More

This Hotel is great for a getaway. I think that couples would be most comfortable here. It almost has the feeling of a very large beach house. The Hotel is built on several levels which cascade down to the Ocean. The public areas are cozy and comfortable. The rooms are comfortable with a more contemporary flare. The bathrooms are updates... Beautiful setting and excellent service. We stayed in room 12, which was quiet and had an exquisite view. This hotel is a treat.

We stumbled upon this outstanding small hotel as a result of a last minute boat trip to St Mawes. The hotel has a divine outlook and a roomy terrace from which to have drinks and a meal when the weather allows. We enjoyed the food so much that we took our teenagers back another two times!! We have also booked... More

I expect excellent service and excellent afternoon tea in a hotel of this calibre. I do not expect a limp Twinings Darjeeling teabag - I expect leaves of the finest, and a much larger selection of teas. That said, the Cornish saffron cake that accompanied the lame tea was of the finest quality. The terrace is divine and the icecream... More

We promised ourselves a visit to the Hotel Tresanton restaurant on our next visit to St Mawes and last week we went. It was all we hoped for, good quality food and friendly staff who clearly wanted you to enjoy the evening from the moment we were shown to our table until the time we left. The views from the... Our expectations for this hotel were high, at over £300 per night it's not cheap. The room (2) was tasteful and contempory with great views of the bay, however it was a little tired, with the odd minor point needing attention, cracked floor tiles, old bathroom fittings, shower curtains not screens. The flooring is not bare foot friendly. Our main... More

This guest stayed in room 3 (room 2 has a wooden floor throughout). We have planned to refurbish this bathroom and will do so very soon. Our menu has a section of classic Tresanton dishes (such as our fish and chips or crab salad) and other dishes which change every day. The regular dishes have only recently been introduced to...
