A brilliant position overlooking St Ives Bay, although all the outside tables are taken very quickly on a nice day. It's an old building - claims 14th Century - with exposed beams and dark wooden panelling. Some of the inside is separated into alcoves, with benches and stools for seating. Decent beer, including Betty Stoggs, Otter Ale and Doom Bar.... More

Fantastic pub on the harbour front in St Ives. Great food at very reasonable prices. Sit in this old Cornish pub and soak up the atmosphere or sit outside and watch the sun go down in probably the most beautiful seaside town in the UK. A must to visit.

Perfect location, lovely food, friendly atmosphere and the live music was great. If the sun is shining it's a fab place to sit outside and watch the seagulls steal unsuspecting tourists ice creams and Cornish pasties. Sunday lunch was beautiful and if you order 2 you get a free bottle of wine.. Yay!

I stayed there few days ago during the bank holiday and i really enjoyed it! The location is perfect, the captain's room was everything we needed! The staff is great, they dont bother you at all! You can have breakfast downstairs which is very good by the way! Christine from the front desk was very helpful and kind! I highly... More

On our first evening in St Ives, after a long journey, we popped into the Sloop. It was a busy Saturday evening but we managed to grab a tiny table for 2. Tired and hungry, we ordered a Steak and a Bean burger from the bar menu. Both came perfectly cooked and delicious. The place was very noisy but with... More

We were holidaying in St Ives for the Easter week so decided it best to book the Captain's Table for Easter Sunday lunch & Christine couldn't have been more helpful via email & phone just as she was this time with our room booking. We thoroughly enjoyed our roast pork and crackling with apple sauce and selection of vegetables and... More

My partner and I go to this pub - and stay there - twice a year. Accommodation-wise, it isn't cheap, but the location and stunning views are worth twice the price they actually charge. Rooms are clean, comfortable, service very obliging (sometimes slightly chaotic, but that ads to the charm) and the breakfasts super. The pub itself is wonderful, and... More

This pub has a definite charm and you should visit at least once. We always cram a visit in. Yes it's crowded and difficult to get a seat, but when you do get a bench on the front it is so lovely to sit and watch the world go by and look at the glorious sea and sand whilst drinking... More

Food was good and the pub was a lovely setting on the sea front and gets very busy. I would highly recommend the fish and chips. Christmas time in St Ives is a wonderful place it's lovely and quiet but the sloop is always busy as it's such a popular little place with a proper Cornish welcome.
