I stayed at this hotel for one night. The hotel is ideally situated near the St Ives train station. I recommend you throughly familiarise yourself with a map before you begin your journey into finding it. Be careful of the narrow roads and on-coming traffic if walking there too. If you have heavy luggage I recommend using a taxi. From... more

My friends and I arrived in St Ives with nowhere to stay so went to the Information Centre to check if they could find us somewhere... they were extremely helpful and directed us to Channings. We found it easily as we were walking (car was parked in one of the car parks up on the hill at the time). Couldnt... more

We were given such bad directions to get there, when we arrived, after parking the car in their "car park"(??),only to find the room we booked was given to someone else. The reception wasn;t at all welcoming, in fact, we were made to think we were more of a nuisance than as paying guests. Everything about the place was old... more

My husband and I recently stayed at Channings Hotel in St Ives. We are regulars to the town but have never stayed at Channings before. What a treat! The bedroom was spotless (with a great view over that incredible bay) and the breakfast we enjoyed each morning could honestly be called a 'full English' - delicious! Excellent value, we'll certainly... more

We have stayed in this Hotel many times, the owners are freindly and very helpful, the rooms are clean, some with stunning seaviews, all are ensuite and serviced daily. The owner cooks full english breakfast with varying extras each day, and there is a choice of fresh fruit salads, yoghurts cereals and toasts.. Evening meals are available again with a... more

I have to say i'm extremely surprised at the other reviews. I would say that this hotel is quite similar to faulty towers. Most of the guests that i met had been going year after year, i didnt quite understand it, the only conclusion that i came to was that they carried on going and hadnt realised the deterioration of... more

The family and I had a lovely weekend break over the Easter period. A large family room with an excellent en suite. A fantastic breakfast with a variety of choices. The owners are very welcoming and friendly and we enjoyed two evenings having a well deserved drink in the bar after long walks. This was our first visit to Channings... more

This is a delightful hotel that I have stayed at a number of times now and I can highly recommend. The family are so welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The atmosphere is very homely and each room is individually decorated. The views from the hotel across the bay are superb. The food is wonderful... more

We have stayed at this Hotel since the mid 1980's. We come back year after year, The present owners are friendly and homely, the hotel is in a lovely position with stunning views. Views from the lounge and some of the bedrooms are second to none, you can see for miles around the bay. It is clean and you are... more
