We found this place when checking out a previous establishment on the same road that has now closed down. What a wonderful find. The food is excellent at a reasonable price. We had three meals there and the last meal I had was a rump steak at a price I normally expect to be a little tough and some gristle, but... More

Whit weekend Sunday, not many cars outside, but we went in any way as it had been recommended by our landlady. It's in a pleasant location with plenty of room and good access in well maintained surroundings. Modern style of decor, stylish with a long bar and chairs and tables or padded chairs. We were made very welcome, table set... More

We went to The Lodge at Balnoon on the recommendation of friends. We were a walk in party of 9 including 5 small children. The lady who greeted us was completely unphased, furniture was promptly rearranged to allow us to sit together and colouring books produced for the little ones. Food was great, nice varied menu and good quality, reasonably... More

Stopped here for a steak as they has a board out the front advertising steak night, 2 steaks and a bottle of wine for £28. The food was nice but there was only us and another couple in the huge pub. No atmosphere which was a shame as the pub was very modern and clean.

We wanted two double rooms and were quoted £55 over the phone for each double room. Their website clearly states "breakfast included". When we got there, we were told the rooms are £68 if we want breakfast, otherwise it's £55 - therefore breakfast is clearly NOT included. Having said that, the breakfasts were nice. The rooms, are very basic, what... More

Stayed for 4 nights in August 2013. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very nice. We stayed in a family room which was basic but clean and comfortable with everything we needed. This place would be great for everyone except elderly or disabled people who might struggle with the slightly steep two flights of stairs.... More

A large group of us stopped here for food, without a reservation, and it was well worth it. We were lucky to get a table as they were turning people away soon afterwards. We had to wait for them to prepare the table, but as they sat us in a lounge area with drinks this wasn't a problem. The food... More

Called into the Lodge for evening meal on spur of moment having driven past it earlier in the day. Couldn't quite make out what sort of eatery it was on our approach. Very surprised when we went in. Decorated in modern fashion, very spacious (loved the lights!). Choose our own table, had Camembert & prawn cocktail to start (lovely) Thia Green... More
