Staff were really helpful and lovely, breakfast good value (full English plus other choices available) Mattress was not too good - unusually soft at the edges -so much so that my partner fell out of bed - not something she usually does. Other than that the rooms were really clean and good value for money. Good location for the town.... More

Stayed in Room 18 in January. St Ives was quiet but the hotel was warm, friendly and the room spotless. Nice shower room with good decor. The little bar below was full of characters and great beer. St Ives is obviously a town and there is some noise but the room had secondary glazing so I was not disturbed. If... More

I stayed for 1 night to attend a family funeral; staff very friendly and helpful; tiny room, but clean & adequate with extra pillows in wardrobe; no space for suitcase though. People sitting outside were chatting until after midnight, but otherwise, it was quiet. Plenty of PG teabags, and Nescafe normal & decaf coffee with milk & sugar on tea... More

We stayed for 2 nights. They charged us 105 a night for a twin room. The room was cramped, we found out that it was a double room but they had decided to make it a twin. The sink was in the bedroom rather than in the bathroom. The bathroom was so small and very basic, with no hooks to... More

Small but nicely decorated room, horrid pod bathroom where you can ritually shower when on the loo. But the noise was horrendous, surprisingly for a monday night the bar noise went on till gone 4 and then the buses started at around 5! We left and moved to another hotel as we realised we would not get a nights sleep... More

We stayed here overnight and were very please with our room which was large, bright and clean. There were three of us but there was plenty of space and the ensuite was also more than adequate. The beds were comfortable, the staff very helpful and friendly and the price was very reasonable. We had no problems with noise despite being... More

Great location, just a few minutes from the harbour front and by the bus stop if you park at the leisure centre car park at the top of town. Our room had a tiny cubicle shower and toilet combo, which I've only ever seen in Japan, and are genius for small spaces. The room was bright, clean and comfortable.

We've just come back from the beautiful st Ives where we stayed at The Western Hotel this week. Having read some of the other reports I have to say some are factual and some are unnecessarily critical so here is our appraisal. The hotel is ideally situated, bang in the middle of this gorgeous town, step out of the hotel... More

After reading the reviews on here, we weren't quite sure what to expect but apart from there been no parking, we finally found a carpark about a 10min walk away up some very steep steps, we were ok with this but it would not be suitable for the elderly. The hotel itself is ok, obviously we wern't expecting great views... More
