Stayed for 2 nights, comfy bed and good breakfast, a bit dated , great location for centre of st ives, staff helpfull, not full of atmosphere but maybe the time of year I went, stayed in many places in st ives, not one of the best but certainly value for money as hotel prices go in st ives

My husband & I spent 2 nights in the hotel. The staff were friendly & helpful. Our room was on the 2nd floor & only had a very small radiator which struggled to warm the room. However we were provided with an additional heater when we asked which heated the room nicely. The bath mat was a piece of paper... More

Visited in winter so few guests. Room was comfortable enough with double bed for single booking, although slightly cramped. Very good shower but again rather cramped in the bathroom. Excellent breakfast with very friendly and helpful staff. Property is old so quirky little staircases and rooms tucked into odd corners. The pub run alongside and under the hotel is an original... Very friendly staff. The rooms - four of us stayed at the hotel were comfortable and well maintained. The location is ideal for the beach, the harbour and the Tate. The breakfast was excellent and the service very good. The only drawback is that there is no parking. However, there are to public parks within about a five minute walk.

Oh dear! We've stayed in some shocking accom over the years, but this takes the cake. Old, dirty noisy and uncomfortable with a cubicle style shower in one corner of the room where you could shower whilst on the toilet! Faulty Towers springs to mind! No parking except at the station , a long walk up a hill away, one... More

Went here for the Sunday carvery. It was delicious. A choice of 3 meats, or all 3 if you wanted, numerous veg and home cooked roasties and Yorkshire puds. Great choice of home cooked puddings too. Prices were extremely reasonable. The restaurant was full so I would book early. Lots of locals in eating, a bit of a hidden gem... More

I have just returned from St Ives, a stay which included 4 nights at the Western. I did not experience any noise problems and kept my window open at all times. The staff here are without a doubt the most helpful and obliging I have known. Nothing is too much trouble for any of them. During my stay I witnessed... More

It could have been a great stay if we could enjoy some sleep. Good central location but unfortunately it was very noisy place to stay in. Adequate breakfast, clean rooms and friendly staff but because of the noise and parking arrangements (15-20 mins walk) we would probably not stay again. Still had a nice enough stay though.

Lovely hotel in heart of St Ives. Wonderful staff, especially Vicky, who was so helpful during a minor crisis! Excellent breakfast, supplied whatever people asked for. Perhaps decor needs a little refreshing but not a major issue. We heard no noise from the music sessions in our family room. No car park but shuttle bus to the top car park.... More

Just returned from a break to St Ives. Looking at some reviews we may have been lucky with our room but we suffered no noise issues at all. There is no parking but a mini bus leaves from right outside every ten minutes (in October) to the main car park which is £6.40 for 24 hours. The hotel couldn't be... More
