Our annual motorcycle tour of Cornwall gave us the perfect opportunity to stay at The Countryman again and such was the warmth of the welcome (Robert came outside to shake our hands before we even stopped the engines) it felt just like coming home after a long time away. Accommodations were as high class as ever, the breakfasts leisurely and... More

We took a Japanese visitor to the Countryman Hotel for a Cream Tea. The hosts Sylvia and Robert were very welcoming and charming as usual, and their cream teas are an example of the very best of Cornwall, served with plenty of cream and jam.

Having recently moved permanently to Cornwall from London we have been trying out the local pubs and restaurants, in particular those away from the main towns and busy areas. Fate was smiling on us when we decided to stop at the Countryman at Trink for a drink a couple of weeks back. We got chatting to the owners of this... More

Stayed here one night on my birthday while camping in south Cornwall. Paul, the temporary host was welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was included in the price but as we were due to meet some friends early next day we were prepared to go without. Paul however suggested this may be a breakfast worth having so we agreed a time. We... More

Every detail was attended to and the staff could not have been more helpful The staff were also very mindful... More

We had seen the sign for the Sunday lunch on our way to St. Ives so stopped on our return. We were on "American time" and were rather early for English Sunday lunch but Sylvia was so friendly and said we would only have to wait a short while. We enjoyed a drink in the garden before being called. I... More

We didn't stay at the hotel. We arrived for lunch on Sunday. The price was roughly what you'd pay elsewhere in Cornwall, however the dinner was more like school dinner! I had the chicken and my partner had the beef. We were given 2 small potatoes each and an Aunt Bessie yorkshire pudding! The beef was like leather and my... More
