We have just returned from our second stay at the Garrack. Unfortunately we only ever have time to stay for one night due to visiting family in Penzance but we have been impressed on each occasion. We had the benefit of a January offer which meant that we had a large double room (the bed was huge!) with a seaview,... more

This is a lovely hotel and pretty friendly. The accomodation we had (for 5 people plus dog) was really superb- spacious, well appointed and more like an apartment than hotel rooms. It would have been easy to rate this hotel as excellent if it wasn't for a few little quibbles which let it down. For example, on 3 mornings there... more

Overall, you get what it says on the tin but we think it is a bit pricey. The Garrack Hotel is situated on the hills above St Ives, as such it is quiet and peaceful with excellent Sea views but the walk up from the Town is not for the faint hearted.....! We had to cancel and rebook our 5... more

I recently stayed at the Garrick and was very disappointed particularly given it has good reviews on this and other sites. I am not a neurotic/fussy traveller either. The hotel is generally very tired in terms of decor and set up. The rooms are a 70s hash with peeling wallpaper nasty furniture and tiny bathroom. I dont think the hotel... more

My wife and I have just returned from a short stay at The Garrack. But in our opinion any break at The Garrack would seem too short. The management and staff were friendly and helpful, even to the point of agreeing to make a carrot cake in the shape of a 50 for my wifes birthday. Though I would recommend... more

a truly friendly hotel, staff were particularly polite and efficient, the food was exquisite, the setting was perfect for seeing in the 'New Year' and it really helped being able to bring our four legged friend along! The only slight down side is the walk back to the hotel from the actual town centre, my it's a steep one!!! more

The Food is absolutely scrumptious!! and the Chef has so many awards, the Outlook of the Hotel is really lovely, and all bedrooms have... more

Hi, Just spent New Year 2006 here in Room 21 (not in main building) and running about around St.Ives. I am frankly a little amazed at some of the older negative reviews here! Summary : Food : Excellent - Dinners and Breakfasts were delicious - all seafood based dishes were utterly fantastic. The simplest dishes really shone out! Wine List:... more

This was our third year staying at the Garrack, and it was enjoyable as ever. Stayed in room 4, from which you can lie in bed and look out over St Ives bay and the island. The hotel really does have a small country house feel to it, lots of nooks and crannies, log fire in the lounge and plenty... more
