Having had issues with our booked accommodation, we found ourselves late at the night at the Garrick. Whilst it perhaps speaks volumes that the Garrack was the only hotel in St Ives with any availability in the middle of August, it is also notable that the new owner is thinking on his feet to fill those rooms, offering us a... We have been staying at this hotel for 40 years, so we were disappointed on arrival to find out that it had just changed hands and it became evident that things were not the same. In fact we had been alerted to changes just two days before when we received an email to say that our booked dinners would not... More

We stayed for two nights as part of our week in Devon & Cornwall. The rooms and hotel are looking a touch tired, we are aware that the property has only just been taken over, so I can appreciate that the hotel is now work in progress. We wanted a luxurious stay, but left dissapointed. It did not have the... More

This is our third stay and although we were not told of the recent change of ownership on booking, it became clear that things were a little different here. The room was the same, very charming and clean with an amazing sea view over Porthmeor Beach. The handy small swimming pool was still very good, if a little busier now... More

We booked this hotel last minute from a campsite. Having spent the previous 5 nights in the wilds, we were after a bit of luxury and pampering. At £300 for two nights b & b, we were expecting just that. The room was small and tired but the view was truly lovely and the service at breakfast was good -... More

We had 2 nights .the room was lovely. It was very spacious and we had a view over the ocean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. As an older couple we had to take the car down to St Ives as it is quite a steep walk back uphill to the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay... More

This hotel is situated within walking distance to the town. The seasonal bus will get you back up the hill! The food here is outstanding by any standard. imaginative evening dinners which are beautifully presented. The breakfast menu and buffet are also a high standard. The grounds may need a little attention, but this is compensated for by the lovely... More

We stayed for 1 night and really enjoyed it.The views are fantastic. The walk to the town is reasonably short but the walk back is a little steep.I loved the position and the fact the hotel is different to most other hotels. The food is good and the staff very helpful.I couldn't get wifi in my room but could in the bar... Found through the recommendations of other Trip advisor contributors. A very big thank you to those who had written a review. What an outstanding place. If you are looking for modern and a real happening thing, this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for serenity, excellent staff and service, clean rooms, sea and shore panoramic... I stayed at the Garrack for two nights while I was on business in St Ives. I had a lovely spacious room on the ground floor, No 11. The facilities for a small hotel were impressive, including a bar, beautiful restaurant and swimming pool. It is located at the top of a very steep hill along a lane. Walking down... More
