This is a lovely hotel and pretty friendly. The accomodation we had (for 5 people plus dog) was really superb- spacious, well appointed and more like an apartment than hotel rooms. I recently stayed at the Garrick and was very disappointed particularly given it has good reviews on this and other sites. I am not a neurotic/fussy traveller either. a truly friendly hotel, staff were particularly polite and efficient, the food was exquisite, the setting was perfect for seeing in the 'New Year' and it really helped being able to bring our four legged friend along! The only slight down side is the walk back to the hotel from the actual town centre, my it's a steep one!!! more
