Stayed for 10 days in July 2012 (prepaid) - 3 days at hotel and a week at the "luxury" appartments. Best location and very good rooms at the hotel. Appartsment is totally without the luxury - overpriced. Terrible useless reception with no sence for service. Food is poor for the price. Ok but when paying that much better can be... More

We ate here for a family wedding and were pleasantly surprised. We had canapes whilst we were waiting to go into the hall, and champagne to wash them down. We had cream of vegetable soup for starters, and I normally hate veg soup, but I enjoyed my starter here, then beef for mains which was cooked just right and ice... More

The hotel mainly attracts older clientelle out of season and family groups during school holidays and changes dramatically in character.Rooms are generally adequate although some bathrooms are minute The standard of catering is excellent, but service quality is lacking at times. There is no lift in the hotel and when cases need to be carried up four steep flights of... More

We stayed for 6 nights at this hotel. Lovely location. Nice and quiet with a lovely beach at your doorstep and a lovely adequate size outdoor heated pool. A 2min train ride away from St Ives, which was great for shopping, restaurants, and when we wanted to experience a bit more of a buzz. The food was excellent and the... More

We arrived at another hotel near St Ives after a long journey but it was dreadful. I managed to find the Carbis Bay hotel which was lovely, fantastic room and bathroom, staff very friendly. food very nice. Price was too expensive, we paid £180 per night DBB and when we booked our meal time the food that we wanted was... More

2 Weeks at the Carbis Bay Hotel. Location - The location of this petite building is perfect for those who enjoy coastal walks and spectacular views. With a private beach on the doorstep and only 1.25 miles fro St Ives, it is idyllic. Food - The hotel clearly pull out all the stops to ensure they use only the freshest... More

We booked this hotel early in 2012 for a 5 night summer break, half board in July. From the website, it looked like we were booking into a good quality 3* star hotel but we quickly realised that this was not the case. On arrival, we received no welcome from the receptionist - indeed she seemed to be barely bothered... More

We stayed here over the Jubilee week, but in the adjacent hotel owned cottages/apartment. Location is spot on beach a minute away and St Ives a pleasant 30 minute walk, or 5 minutes by train? Food at the hotel and afternoon tea were excellent and the former very reasonable (£24/head as a hotel guest). I would echo some of the... More

This family owned and run hotel may be oldie world on the inside but the atmosphere and the ambiance are second to none. My lady and I are returning this year for our fourth year. The welcome is outstanding, the staff being very cheerful and helpful and always well turned out. Some of the rooms are on the small side... More

We had Sunday afternoon tea here in June seated in the lovely conservatory overlooking the sea...the food was delicious... served on a beatiful fresh clean table cover ..neither my husband or I care for salmon but this was easily changed for ham...which was delicious along with the other sandwiches...followed by yummy strawberry tarts with pastry to die for...then of course...
