Stayed for a few days in August 2014 and thought it was ok if you have transport, The elderly stay at this hotel on coach tours, the hotel is situated on a hillside with a steep walk to carbis bay and an even steeper one to the main road so beware, the breakfast was simply fantastic as were the staff 99% European... Taken our first and last holiday with Alfa and this hotel. We didn't get one decent nights sleep during our stay due to the room we had so returned home shattered. We'd booked a QUIET, top floor, sea view room (£60 extra but lovely view) but was allocated room 48 next to the LIFT! We were woken up daily from 2.50am... More

I just returned from a weeks holiday with Alfa. A nice friendly ** star, food good, house doubles £2.80. Pint lager £3.40. views good from communal areas. If you want a sea view from your room pay the extra or content yourself with plastic covered grassy banks & waste bins. There are no pubs nearby, there is one small shop... More

Stayed here for one night with my 10 year old son. The location was excellent. So close to the railway station, though we did take a wrong turn from the station, and followed the road the Hotel was supposed to be on! After arriving at the top of a hill in scorching heat, we realised we had gone wrong! A... More

The cottage hotel is pleasingly situated looking down on to Carbis Bay it is quite a steep path down to the beach but worth the walk. The small railway station is only a couple of minutes walk from the hotel and only takes 3 minutes to get to St Ives £1 each way.The hotel is 90% coach tourists but is still... The sea view was well worth the extra money ,the meals were good and the service was quick and efficient. The bingo with Roger was hilarious and the entertainment was not to be missed. Rooms clean and spacious. Staff... More

Another great week spent in the cottage hotel in Carbis Bay. Many thanks to all the staff including Viktor, Sue and Roger. Top value for money in terms of food service and location. Sue the receptionist could not do enough for us and many other hotels could take a leaf from the Cottage book.

We stayed here because it was less expensive than a St.ives itself plus breakfast was included. The place itself is like a very big B&B, staff are very friendly, lovely views from some of the rooms out to sea and plenty of parking. The entrance to the hotel is very hard to find and deceptive as you have to drive... More
