We stayed here because it was less expensive than a St.ives itself plus breakfast was included. The place itself is like a very big B&B, staff are very friendly, lovely views from some of the rooms out to sea and plenty of parking. The entrance to the hotel is very hard to find and deceptive as you have to drive... More

Overall a good hotel trouble walking don't use very steep paths and roads. Steps to reception again steep, no ramp. Food breakfast good, evening meal either over cooked or under cooked, salad looked like it had been under cling film for the day. We went out in the evening to eat after two nights. Rooms clean . Staff brilliant Christine... More

This hotel has views second to none! Small but very comfortable. Very impressed by staff and food. Nothing was any trouble and staff prepared to go the extra mile to help. No rigid rules to stick to and entertainment in the hotel was consistently the best we have had. I would recommend this hotel with no reservations.

This isn't a wonderful hotel, it is cheap and cheerful and serves that end of the market well. My room was comfortable and clean, everything worked, no problems. Didn't get a sea view but that was OK. Breakfast was perfectly edible, I would have preferred a bit more bacon but the surcharge for breakfast over room only was £4, so... More

I travelled here with a friend, on a coach trip from Northumberland. We received a warm welcome on our arrival. In fact, all the staff I came across during my stay were friendly and helpful. As for the hotel - what a rabbit warren! I helped my friend find her room, and then had trouble finding mine! The room numbers... More

Do not be put off by the un-picturesque building. Yes, it's decor is dated but very clean. Lovely sized rooms and the most cheerful, helpful staff you could wish for. The food was great and plenty of it, and if by any chance you were still hungry, you could ask for more. We went on a 5 day holiday with... More

We went away for a last minute break for May Day and this hotel had cut its prices to get their rooms filled. It's a bit odd to find because you have to go right through the railway station car park. For our purposes it was ideal. Its quite a big hotel compared to where we usually stay and attracts... More

My wife and I stayed at the Cottage Hotel for 2 nights whilst I was working in the area. The sea view room was very nice, spacious and clean. Unfortunately that's all that we can say that's good. The food was poor, the advertised entertainment was cancelled and when we signed out the Receptionist couldn't produce a bill. The only... More

Just had a 7 day break with Alpha at the Cottage hotel in St Ives ( April 20 -27th).. We paid for a sea view room which was very comfortable with a lovely view of Carbis Bay. The hotel was very welcoming and the staff couldnt be more helpful, the meals were more than enough and the manager told us... More

How well I remember the ambiance and fun of the Cottage Hotel. It hasn't changed much regarding that but other things don't always stay the same. ONE of my best memories was taking the young Audrey Higgins from Liverpool by the hand and leading her onto the dance floor. Audrey was a waitress for the season and I was the... More
