I recently visited st Ives and looked at this hotel with a view to staying. Unfortunately the impression outside was one of a pink place well splattered with seagull mess. Inside was dark and small, the dining room being very offputting as it is 'very cosy'. I also found the notice that only well behaved children welcome was not very... More

Let me first by saying that Cornerways is... More

It was half term madness and St Ives was awash with families and tourists all enjoying this very special place in the West Country…….Tim, ‘Mine Host’ of Cornerways sorted out my parking and we were all set for a few days of sheer indulgence in this wonderful costal resort. I have stayed many times at Cornerways and the standard has... More

Small but very comfy room, spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfast choices. Owner Tim was a great host, helpful and kind. Car park nearby only £6.50 a day. We had a wonderful time in St. Ives and want to return soon.

Recommend the room Rebecca for best views of harbour at the top of the house. Parking at island car park £6.50 a day or Tim will advise another walking distance. Rooms all have unique style reflecting the owners love of art, breakfast choice outstanding with amazing baked tomatoes! Owner has huge knowledge of the town and makes you feel very... More

This is a fab B&B set in the heart of St Ives. Once your car is parked up, you are set for a wonderful holiday - you won't need it again as St Ives has everything you need :O) Tim is a wonderful host, so kind, thoughtful and caring. The rooms are very clean, funky and posh. They all appear... More

My wife and I stayed here with friends a couple of weeks ago and it was fantastic with a lot of character and atmosphere together with all the modern requirements of life. Tim was a great host and we all started the day with one of his Cornish breakfasts - don't miss it. I first sampled the pub on the... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Spend your holidays with us in Downalong, a labyrinth of cobbled lanes which used to be the fisherman's quarter in the oldest part of St Ives. Cornerways was built in the 1830s and has been a Guest House for over 70 years. Only 50 yards from the harbour, beaches and restaurants, Daphne Du Maurier stayed here in the 1940's. The Tate Gallery, for which we provide complimentary tickets, and St Ives Art School are only 150 yards away. Two of our rooms overlook the harbour and bay beyond. With a modern feel that echoes the artists’ quarter in which it sits, Cornerways’ rooms have been renovated and totally redecorated over the last 7 years and all have new en-suites. All bedrooms have LCD TVs, DVD Players, Wi-Fi, tea and coffee facilities, fridges and complimentary Cornish bottled water. The 3' thick Cornish Granite walls and no passing traffic will ensure you a snug & quiet night’s sleep.Breakfast is served in the uncrowded dining room with only fresh produce being used. We also cater for vegetarians. Fresh local fish is available daily, which includes smoked salmon, local mackerel, kippers and smoked haddock. Tim & Shelley ... more   less
