Stayed here recently for a three night short break. Ideally situated in centre. Very comfortable, spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable and for central location very quiet! We were made to feel welcome by the friendly staff and enjoyed great breakfast cooked to order. One of the nicest small hotels I have stayed in. Rooms are above the bar which means... More

Stayed one night midweek at this charming, bursting with character, gastro-pub. Rooms are new and stylish, albeit basic. Light, bright and fresh - everything you'd want really. We stayed in room 5, which featured a double bed and single bed. Only fault - no hand soap for the sink. Surprising, as there was nice body wash/shampoo in the shower and... More

Just back from a three night stay at The Queens Hotel - and I would definitely stay here again. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The room was warm, comfortable and very clean. The 'cooked to order' breakfast was excellent. The location of the hotel is brilliant, right in the centre of St Ives.... More

Stayed here for one night on Jan. 31st. Lots of stairs to negotiate however arrived in a very small, very clean and recently refurbished room. Warm, hot shower and comfy for our stay. The very best thing about this pub, were the great staff who were friendly and very helpful. The vegetarian risotto was the best, and I mean THE... More

Had lunch here for three of us, good selection of local beers and lagers, atmosphere good, updated surroundings excellent. Staff good too. The food? At lunchtimes do an excellent light menu, very varied, we had three different dishes and all were first class and excellent value. Seared venison salad, blue cheese salad and son had a really good ham and... More

This hotel is in a good location. Like a lot of hotels in the centre of St Ives though, it has no parking, so the best carpark is at the train station a few minutes walk away. the hotel seemed short staffed when i was there, reasulting in being kept waiting to check in etc, but I was there out... We stayed at the queens hotel at the end of feb for 8 days. The rooms are clean, modern and fresh, the breakfast is delicious! Possibly the best breakfast we've had anywhere! And the service was excellent! Tracy in particular was very helpful and really friendly. The location is also great! We would definitely stay here again and would thoroughly... More

Just returned from a long weekend at St Ives, staying at the Queens Hotel. What a find this place is, comfortable accommodation, spotlessly clean, sitting on top of a great pub/restaurant. Breakfast every morning was delicious, the usual cereals, fresh fruit and toast but the real highlight is the full English breakfast cooked individually to order. The jewel in the... More

Just back from a really lovely 2 night stay right in the middle of this busy quaint little village. Hotel was really clean, just refurbished and traffic noise was non existent even with our room being the road side. The hotel is so conveniently situated in a quaint little street, central for every thing. We had a full English breakfast... More

The Queens Hotel has become our hotel of choice when visiting St Ives which is quite often as it is the birthplace of my partner and her father who is a celebrated local artist has lived here for 50+ years. This establishment ticks all our boxes. It has a great central location within walking distance of all the beaches, galleries,... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Queen's Hotel is a late-Georgian, three-story building in the heart of picturesque St Ives. 5 mins from the harbour and beaches, we have ten en-suite bedrooms, which have been redecorated with vintage furniture and Cornish artwork hanging on the freshly painted white walls, plus sparkling new bathrooms with new showers. Downstairs is a relaxed and friendly bar with delicious pub food that was awarded an AA rosette in 2011. Everything is prepared on the premises - the menu is chalked up on the board daily using the finest local, seasonal ingredients Cornwall has to offer. Bread baked daily. Homemade ice-cream. Local beers. Warming fire. Children are very welcome: upstairs a camp bed and a travel cot are available to borrow, all windows have black-out blinds; downstairs there are boardgames + toys in the light and airy bar, baby-changing, and children's portions available. The harbour front and Fore Street are under five minutes walk away. Selected by Alastair Sawdays. ... more   less
