While in Port Isaac for a week we noticed the Thursday evening steak meal for £10 with all the trimmings. We didn't book but asked around 7.30ish if there was any chance of a table but could see it was very busy. Happily we were told we could have a table at 8.30 which was fine so we passed the... More

The Slipway is the BEST location to stay in Port Isaac. All of the action in the village takes place near or at the Slipway terrace. Staying there allows you to explore and then return "home" for a rest or a drink. It is THE best place to people watch and if you are a Doc Martin fan, to see... More

Two night stay, overlooking the harbour in Port Isaac at The Slipway Hotel. The hotel was very comfortable, the staff exceptionally kind and helpful (sorting out a coup!e of hitches quite efficiently). The food was amazing and a definite experience, even if not resident at the Hotel. Only down side, is that if you book and pay extra for the... More

We had a walk round this lovely place, taking in all the sites. Planned to have late lunch, on seeing most stopped at 2.30 we got a table. I went into the bar where the lady behind was just finishing a couples order. I said are we ok to order, we know what we would like, to be told no... More

My wife and had the best time for 9 days at The Slipway Hotel. It was so much fun there that we extended our planned 3 days, twice, for a total of 9 days. Everyone at the hotel was friendly, helpful, courteous, and fun. We stayed in 3 different rooms in the quaint 500 year old building. Each had its... More

Having stayed at the Slipway Hotel multiple times, we were unfortunately disappointed on this occasion. Whilst the staff and location remain excellent, the noticeable lack of maintenance and insufficient attention paid to cleanliness left us questioning whether we would return to the hotel which we have a significant sentimental attachment to. Unfortunately our room had multiple cobwebs, the bathroom had... More

Lovely lunch for four of us ...very fresh tasty fish..served well .Was perturbed to see waitress raise her eyebrows and sighed at a table of French visitors who were elderly and tried their best to speak English..our service was better and the food was lovely.Great setting to people watch and take in the atmosphere of Doc Martin's Port Wenn !!

Our second holiday in Port Isaac, we had also visited in July 2014. The Slipway Terrace area is an ideal place to people watch while having drinks and food. We had lunch on the Terrace several days and dinner in the bar area several evenings with our dogs ( very dog friendly).. We can recommend the crab salads and sandwiches,... More

The hotel is very nice, and the staff are friendly and geniune. The food is excellent and there is little to complain about at this restaurant. There is no parking, but once you have been here you'll know why. Parking is fairly close up a steep hill, but it isn't too bad and the views from the top are impressive.... More

My family had a deeply disturbing experience at the hands of staff in The Restaurant @ The Slipway in Port Isaac last night, and the owners have failed to respond to my letter. At first all was well. The welcome was warm and relaxed; the starters excellent, especially the mussels. The chef was flexible and considerate in making a special... More
