My wife and I stayed at this hotel for the first time over Easter and were very impressed by every aspect of it. All the staff were always very friendly, polite and eager to please especially Sam, the deputy manager who obviously has a flair for the hotel industry and parking cars! We arrived just as the restaurant was closing,... More

stayed for 4 nights over Easter 2015. A lovely hotel, which was very comfortable and clean. Food is superb, rooms are a delight and the staff are all very helpful and friendly. Location was great with the added bonus of on site parking a rarity in this beautiful little fishing village. Will definitely return at least once this season, twice... More

My wife and I have been here several times over recent years, and although certainly not the cheapest way to bed and board while visiting Cornwall, we have always enjoyed the rooms we have stayed in, and been well looked after by the staff. The restaurant area is a great place for a full English breakfast as well as a... More

Fantastic location, lovely staff and a very nice evening meal. When booking the room it was described as having a shared terrace. In reality the shared terrace was the car park which wouldn't have been a problem if it had been described as such. The main problem however was the paper thin walls and ceilings. I was just glad that,... More

Good stuff: Rachel the receptionist was very very nice and represents the hotel well. The room was lovely, bed was comfy, with a nice sofa to watch tv at night. The view from our room was towards town and at the water through the wee windows. We were treated extremely well except for the Disappointing stuff below. We stayed in... More

Thank you for your comments about Rachel, the room and your stay. Unfortunately at the time that you checked out I was in a meeting with a couple about their wedding here at the hotel next year. We are never "too busy" to speak to our patrons but it would not have been polite to leave the meeting I was... More

As a last minute whim we decided on a weekend break in mid March and took a chance on port Isaac. As we didn't book in anywhere we tried the old school hotel. the manager got us into the chemistry room. we can't get enough of this hotel. Friendly staff, warm comfy beds, very good food. Brilliant location and on... More

Spent a night here on the 22nd Feb in the French room. It was a simple room but very nice. Had a small window looking out to the sea. The bed was very comfortable and we slept very well even though it was raining very heavily through the night. The shower was good and bathroom clean. Had a very good... More

Port Isaac in January is beautiful! No crowds and we were practically the only guests at this fantastic hotel. There is a selection of rooms available here with sea views, and it is clean and comfortable. The staff are lovely, as is the great restaurant. We dined here both nights, the mussels and fresh seafood (locally sourced) were the best... More

My parents and I are fans of Doc Martin and chose to come to Port Isaac because it is depicted as being such a beautiful place on the TV show. It is just as beautiful in real life! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the "English" room and had fantastic views over the town and waters of Port Isaac. All... More

Perfect location for a hotel, with on-site parking, rare in Port Isaac. Warm welcome took us to our room, the English room. It was well-appointed but such a shame the room lacked anything relating to its theme:nothing to link it to 'English', wasted opportunity. Lighting for reading was poor, there was no source of heat in the bathroom, not even... More
