We had a wonderful stay at the Old School Hotel. We stayed in the Latin room with wonderful views of the harbor and the village. Sam, the only person we had contact with, was very friendly and efficient and went out of her way to be helpful. I only wish we had stayed longer. Dinner was very good, as was... More

We stayed two nights at the Old School and ate in the restaurant each evening. We stayed in the Latin Room which is quite large and has a fabulous view of the harbour. The food and restaurant service is good. Unfortunately, our stay was tarnished by the lack of heating in our room. On the first night the central heating... More

We have just got home after a brilliant stay at The Old School House Hotel. It's our 5th stay and as ever really good. I was made to feel very welcome by Sam when I checked into our favourite room, English room. It had been completely redecorated since last time complete with beautiful new curtains. Cannot fault the cleanliness and... More

We stayed 3 days in the wonderful Latin room and loved it , it was magic for us this room . Sam and Kevin were so very helpful when we asked for breakfast in bed and things we needed. I did not like the full english breakfast on one day but loved smoked haddock and poached egg. We never had... More

We stayed in the Latin room and was expecting a luxury/cosy break by a quaint seaside port - on arrival we were told we had the best room which made me feel very sorry for those in the other rooms as ours was tired, basic and vastly overpriced. The selling point of the room was the window overlooking the bay... More

Naturally, we were disappointed to read your 'review'. Firstly, it can't have escaped you that the weather so far this year and prior to your stay was not very good. The hotel is located on a cliff, directly next to the sea and our windows are cleaned every week, but with a 40-60mph gale blowing there is no way to... More

We have just spent 4 days (3 nights) at this hotel. It was very enjoyable, we had the Latin Room which has huge windows with a lovely view over the harbour. The bed was huge too and very comfortable. View was sometimes spoilt as they got covered in condensation and the room could have been a bit warmer, but overall... More

We stayed in a small room facing the harbor. We did have a nice view of the harbor although the window was either not clean or full of condensation so a bit hard to see. The room was quite small but clean enough and comfortable enough for a night. I have not real complaints about the old schoolhouse other than... More

Thanks for your feedback. We did have a problem with the roof in that room. The building was constructed circa 1875 and is grade II listed. We spend a lot of time and a large percentage of our income maintaining it, but occasionally a problem like this can occur. If we could have moved you to a different room we... More
