Stayed here for 2 nights at the end of Jan, it was brilliant. Wonderful staff, amazingly large rooms, beautifully high ceilings and vintage style bathrooms. There was so much room it was bigger than most modern day flats! But the views, the views were something else. Even in the winter stormy weather it was beautiful straight out to sea and... More

I booked a room here mid day on new years eve for me and my partner and our 2 labradors, I explained that 1 of our dogs was a puppy and instead of the usual "oh Urr is it trained" etc etc which we've had from other hotels, (which usually makes us feel unwelcome) the lady on the phone was... More

Have just returned from Sunday lunch at The Queens Hotel.... The food was plentiful, flavoursome and well presented, I so appreciated the additional gravy boat of yummy gravy. Fresh vegetables, roast potatoes to die for...the beef tender, full of flavour. The Yorkshire puddings were a triumph and how nice to have a proper version instead of the usual insipid versions... I have stayed in this hotel at least 5 or 6 times on work trips. Firstly the negatives. When booking a double room on the internet the type of room I got was a lottery. The first and last time I stayed I was over the moon. I was put in a sea view, massive room. I mean massive with... More

Natalie, Thank you for your review of The Queens Hotel. As a large Victorian hotel, the rooms do differ in size, views and aspect - and it is a lottery to what room you'll get. The biggest rooms get booked first and then the bookings move along to other rooms. Sometimes, it is possible to secure and upgrade - but... More

Called in at the Queens Hotel for a cup of tea with friends, sat in the foyer of the hotel, had menu's on the tables, staff at desk could see us. Stayed here for 3 nights in September. Traditional large English hotel with excellent location and good comfortable & sizeable rooms with sea views. Decor a little tired but rooms were clean. No welcome on arrival.- vague description where room was. It was at the end of a very dingy narrow corridor with three bedroom doors opening on one another. It was difficult to walk through with a suitcase at your side without bumping the corridor sides. Room, whilst clean, slightly faded and scruffy- wall sockets rusty and ariel wall socket hanging...
