On Sunday, September 14th, 2014, I was a guest at the QUEENS HOTEL for the wonderful event facilitated so well by JUDITH KINGDON, Founder and Director of Star Shapers Ltd. Not only was the event itself a huge success (with 100 of us each receiving a certificate of acknowledgement as an AWARD FOR INSPIRING HUMAN POTENTIAL, but also because the... More

Queens Hotel,Penzance,Cornwall,UK Due to fog we were unable to fly from Exeter to the Isles of Scilly and were bussed to the Queens Hotel,Penzance for an overnight stay prior to catching the Scillonian III for St Mary's the following morning. There were about twenty of us and as this was still the holiday season(September) we must give them credit for... More

The best location, greeting and service during a 5 night stay we could have hoped for. An older hotel that retains a classic style and elegance, with standards of service sadly lacking these days at some other more expensive venues! Please do your homework as we do anyone wanting a boutique chic experience, as this is not that and doesn't... More

The hotel is in situated in a good location; on the sea-front and within walking distance to the town centre. However, the price at £164 was exorbitant for a cramped, pokey and dark room with side view of the sea. Queens hotel is in great need of refurbishment; the decor, furniture and furnishings are incredibly dated and dreary reminiscent of... More

Dear Anon, Thank you for your review. We are sorry that you feel you overpaid for your room. We must remind you that, as it is August, it is peak season and so our rates are higher and our hotel is very busy. While many of our rooms are sea-facing and quite spacious, some rooms are to the side and... More

The room was not in the best of repair. The sea view was fantastic, but the windows were filthy. We had a storm on the first night coming straight off the sea and even that couldn't shift the dirt on the glass. On top of that, our room wasn't cleaned for the 3 nights we were there (we know because... More

Dear Dr, Thank you for your review and comments. Our rooms are cleaned daily and decorated annually, so we are naturally upset that the rooms were not to your expectations. We shall be carrying out an audit of the rooms this weekend, taking note of your comments to make sure the experience is not repeated. The wifi is also in... More

Loud pop music greets you... Along with a stair lift from the car park. It's not a great first impression. The sea view rooms are beautiful but take your ear plugs. Boy racers will keep you awake all night. You will get very little sleep. I will not be rushing back to stay here again.

Mizziek, Thank you for your review and comments. We're not sure that 'loud pop music' greets all our guests. We sometimes have functions in the ballroom, but these are limited in the summer as the restaurant is usually full. So while we cannot dispute your claim, we are at a loss to ascertain where the loud pop music was coming... More

My Sea View single room had a good vantage point of the bay and (looking to the left) St. Michaels Mount. The room was not exactly spacious but not cramped, adequate for an overnight stay. Everything was quite clean if a bit aged; in fact the hotel itself has an old world style & charm about it. The restaurant served... More

Colin, Thank you for your review on Tripadvisor. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at The Queens Hotel. The wifi has been installed recently and we are already looking to upgrade the service, as we did not know that it would be so popular - so changes are on the way. We don't cut back on the portions... More

JG, Thank you for your review. We're sorry that you experienced some issues with noise coming through the ceiling of the hotel, into your room. We have carried out a thorough investigation and have isolated the cause. There is a former speaker system that has been wired into a radio that used to be used by staff while they were... More

We stayed in the hotel as a family with our son and a little dog. The room was overlooking the sea and was excellent: grand and spacious. The bathroom facilities were very good. We had a superb long weekend. Penzance is very conveniently located for driving to St Ives, Lands End, St Michael's Mount and a lot of other attractions.... More

Lucy, That you for reviewing The Queens Hotel on Tripadvisor. As an older hotel, not all our rooms are the same so we're pleased that you had a great view from the room where you stayed. Our staff are well-trained and I'm glad that they helped you in every way that they could. We look forward to seeing you next... More
