The location could not be better in Penzance. The rooms at the front have a spectacular view over the sea, from St Michael's Mount to the East to the Mousehole headland to the West. Always something going on on the water to look at. Flat walk of about 400yards to some good restaurants near the harbour and then a short... More

I was staying at a nearby hotel, and decided to eat one evening at the Queens Hotel for a change. The evening menu was displayed at Reception, so I was able to see what kind of food was available before making a booking. I booked a table for that evening with a very pleasant young man on Reception. When I... More

We booked this trip through Wowcher which at £99 for a two night stay for two of us, was a good price. It was a very large, imposing hotel right on the sea front, and had wonderful views of the sea. We upgraded to a sea view room with four poster bed, and it was absolutely beautiful. It was really... More

This was my second stay at The Queens Hotel within the last six months after a memorable winter stay that blew me away. The second visit was in June 2014 with my six year old daughter and was everything I remembered and expected. The staff are first class and every person I spoke to was polite, extremely helpful and always... More

This is the second time that we have stayed at the Queens - it's 9 months apart so I think a second review is valid especially as we had a different room type. We stayed in room 29 which is one of the large bay windowed rooms at the from of the hotel with a sea view. The room is... More

Yeltza, Thank you very much for your review. The building is listed and we aim to keep as many of the period features as we can. However, as you noted, we take pride in making the rooms as comfortable as possible and as the windows face the sea - the sunlight can be very bright so blackout blinds are helpful.... More

Thanks Guys for the workout. Checked in to find out we were on the second floor. "there is a lift though isnt there?" " Uh yes but its not working" My memory has improved greatly, I made certain we had everything we needed for the day. Room was adequate and comfortable. Bed comfortable which is the main criteria sorted. I... More

Catrin, Thanks for the review and the workout is on us! The lift is undergoing scheduled maintenance, and will be running in the next 24 hours. We're glad you found the hotel comfortable and quiet - even if it means keeping coach parties and family diners apart! Knowledgable staff - well, that's what we're here for. Please do stay again.... Rang the Hotel prior to visit to make sure the lift was working, and assured it was. On arrival was told the lift was out of order! As my husband uses a wheelchair the stairs were not an option. Nobody had contacted us to inform us of this problem. We were offered to use the private lift which we did,... More

Reg, Thank you for your review and your comments, which we note. We have a record that you called in January and asked if the lift was working. We informed you that the lift was working and asked if there was a special requirement to which you did not reply. Had we known that one of your party needed help... More

Sadly I have had a bad experience with this hotel on 1/6/14 and feel I want to share this with everyone. This hotel is designed for the over 55's - coaches arriving regularly with the elderly members of our society which is great for them but worth flagging up if you are under 55, this hotel probably isn't for you....
