Stayed here before and it was friendly and nice. Came back because of it and felt we were in the way. The room wasn't good and the linen didn't seem too clean. Won't be going back more

Great value, the hotel has seen better days but the rooms are pretty decent, and we even got a view of the sea :) more

The Union Hotel has been maliciously represented in another review present here which has moved me to offer my own opinion. This hotel is a very large and historic granite building - containing the Trafalgar Room, from the balcony of which the result of the battle of the same name was first announced before it was known anywhere else in... more

We arrived in the lovely town of Penzance to stay at The Union Hotel. We stayed here many years ago and were excited about our return visit. Upon arrival the reception wasn't manned, we rang the bell twice and went into the bar to try and find someone to speak to. It took almost 10 minutes before someone came to... more

My husband and I booked this hotel for June 26th through the 28th as the first 20 choices were already booked due to the Penzance & Cornwall Mazey Day Festival. We booked from the U.S. and were unaware there was going to be a festival; that aside the reasons for never staying at this hotel are not related to the... more

I managed to get a four night booking at the Union Hotel in Penzance during a peak holiday period and was pleasantly surprised with my stay there. The hotel is located on a hilly street which overlooks the bay and is just a 5 minute walk to the waterfront. It is a small intimate establishment with focuses on personalised service.... more

Booked online at the last minute as I had to stay over for business. Travelodges etc were full but this was much cheaper for a clean room in a very old building full of character. part of one of te best pubs in town and near lots of other bars & restaurants. Old fashioned & chntzy but all the better... more

If you want the Ritz, this isn't the place for you. However, for a fairly low price, it was a nice enough hotel, which I would consider going back to. This is a very old building in a proper Olde English town. It is set right in the town centre and is a 5 minute walk from the beach, the... more

They told us charge would not go through on card and so we gave them another. 5 calls later I spoke with Manager who was not apologetic and very short with me. Still not resolved. The hotel has character, but there was no telephone in room and not even a bar of soap in the bathroom, let alone luxuries such... more

We stayed at the Union Hotel for 3 1/2 nights. We had one double bed and two single beds. It is very hard to find family rooms. The location was not convienant to the beach. There are shops and places to eat in the area. The hotel has two bars and one breakfast room. They do offer a full English... more
