We were given a warm welcome, the landlord helping me carry the bag to the room. The room when we were shown it was bright, light and well appointed and the bay window overlooked the quay and we had lovely views of the harbour area. The shame was that it was foggy so we could not see St Michaels mount... More

I thoroughly recommend this welcoming little pub. We stayed for one night and could have happily stayed longer. Our room was spacious, modern and spotlessly clean (in fact it was much nicer than where we spent the following evening that cost more than twice as much). The bed was very comfortable and the tea tray included biscuits and bottled water.... More

We decided to have a break in Penzance and ended up eating here and we were not disappointed, they serve the most wonderful food,i had a ham hock pate with a red onion marmalade and a balsamic salad it was divine, followed by a trio of simple Cornish fish, one of which was red gurnard and it was one of the best... I live in Cornwall and when we're having a drive down that way myself and partner usually end up here as we know the food's good. They serve all day too! I usually have the vegetarian lasagne which comes with really nice garlic bread and a fairly large side salad in a bowl with all sorts in, not your usually... More

We ate there three times on our holiday in Penzance, which should say it all. The service was quick, there was a good choice of fresh food and dogs are welcome. The pub is on the quay and there are some tables (on the street) outside as well - it is worth booking as they get very busy from about... More

Stayed at the Dolphin for one night before taking the Scillonian over to the Isles of Scilly. Lovely room overlooking the harbour, bath was large and deep and loads of hot water. Comfy bed and didn't hear a thing from the bar beneath. Had dinner there and could not fault it, had a couple of pints of Tribute to wash... More

Lovely meal at the Dolphin. The steak sizzler was cooked just right and the restaurant was clean. Booking highly recommended as we couldn't get a table at the beginning of our holiday. Staff were fine, service was good but maybe could have been a bit more friendly, they were busy but just didn't seem to smile a lot! Overall a... More

We enjoyed an evening meal at the Dolphin Tavern. The crab and prawn starters were delicious and tasted very fresh. For mains, we had steak and ale pie and sole, and both were good. The pie contained plenty of good quality meat. The raspberry pavlova was slightly disappointing, as it contained lots of meringue, but very few raspberries. Service was... More
