Friendly service, excellent food. From the moment we arrived the saff could not be more helpful, the bar food was plentiful, the choice of well kept ales very good. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable.

Visited here with friends, we were looking for somewhere dog friendly to eat and we were given a warm welcome. The menu was varied and I had difficulty choosing! We all ate something different and not one of us was disappointed with our choice. Well done, a good place to eat in Penzance!

Perfect. A refreshing welcome change to come across a traditional style English pub instead of the modern "wine bar". The first thing that we noticed after walking through the door was the smell of the food, absolutely amazing. On our first visit, we only stopped for a drink as we had already eaten. We was instantly made to feel welcome... More

This lovely pub near the sea, and quite close to the Penzance "pirate ship" (a souvenir shop) literally forced me to change my mind about the quality of British food. Traveling with a friend, we went walking along the coast and then went there for dinner one evening, and we had a wonderful experience. The staff was busy and perhaps... More

Me and my fiancé stayed here for one night as a getaway. The service was great and very friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable with tea, coffee and biscuits supplied. The food was really lovely! The only complaint (not really a fault of the pub) is that if you're staying in one of the front rooms, people tend... More

Dropped in on our return from the Isles of Scilly for dinner on a sunday. Very busy with all tables used or reserved. We luckily got a table. all members of staff were very nice, smiling and helpful. Three of us decided to have fish and chips which unfortunately was a bit below par considering the easy of making the... More

We went to buy tickets for the isles of scillies and went to lunch . I had a mixed ploughmans which had cheddar-stilton and a lovely piece of ham. The bread was warm. The pickled onion bit back!! Lin had a prawns and crab meat linginie with a creamy sauce that i am itching to try and recreate. It was... More

Good quality food. We were very happy with what turned up and the prices weren't too bad either. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Thanks for a lovely meal, will definitely return next time we're in Penzance.

Loved the atmosphere and the staff were nice too. However, for the price I paid for the food I was slightly disappointing. Standard pub grub however I found it lacking in taste. Reluctant to go back however it may be worth trying something else, especially judging by other reviews.

As it was me and my partners first time down to Penzance, we decided a local pub maybe the best choice for us to stay. We found The Dolphin Tavern on laterooms.com and booked. When we arrived we were warmly greeted, shown our room, as well as everything explained regarding food and about our stay. The food was of excellent... More
