The location is very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. We booked two rooms both of which were very clean although the paint is peeling in places. The Hotel itself now seems to style itself an Inn which perhaps more suits its slightly quirky interior layout. We would have scored this "excellent" but for the waste water arrangements. One... More

Very convenient as it's two minutes' walk from the station. Warm welcome from friendly staff. Good atmosphere in the bar with comfortable seating. Very good food including excellent supply of home made scones and cakes. Upstairs very institutional. Comfortable bed, but cheap and tacky furniture. Wasted space on the first floor with sea view - could be made in to... More

Ours was an overnight stay enroute to the Scilly Isles having arrived by train. It's literally just behind the station. Front doesn't look that special and the entrance is into the pub. Very pleasant welcome and then lots of fire doors to our room. This was very pleasant - recently redecorated - nice and clean - good bathroom, big bed... More

My sister and I reserved a room here for one night during our trip to Cornwall. We'd taken the night train from London, picked up our rental car, sleepily trudged around town until we were able to check in. Arrived at the inn and were told our room was unavailable and that they'd reserved us another place to stay. Great.... More

My visit got off to an inauspicious start when less than a week before I was due to arrive, I received two emails cancelling my reservation. When I contacted the hotel, I was told the reservation was not cancelled, but, because a group had booked in, it was necessary to change my allocated room. A further email should have been... More

Very handy (20 metres) from station (bus/rail). Good value. Room very well looked after and clean. Breakfast fine - not the most elegant but good ingredients etc. Handy for other eating places - Penzance Grill across the road good for kebabs and pizzas. The down side? Lots of stairs - would be a problem for elderly/infirm, unless you get a... More

The flights from Lands End to Scilly Isles were cancelled due to fog, and this was the only emergency accommodation the air travel company could find. BUT the service in the bar from very friendly staff was superb. A good hearty breakfast the following morning was excellent. A great treat was discovering the Longboat's own special and exclusive brew! I... More

We enjoyed a lovely home cooked meal here in July 2013 (sorry for the late review). There were 8 of us, 4 adults & 4 children. The staff were very friendly & accommodating & found us a lovely big table at the back of the pub where we had plenty of space for our babies pram. The food was definately... More

Downstairs, in the public areas this hotel/pub is exceptional. We ate there, we drank there, we even watched a film in their own little cinema (free!). The staff are brilliant and they seem to have thought of everything. Its five stars and no mistake....but it is upstairs where is all goes a bit wrong. The hotel boasts "re-furbished rooms" on... The Longboat is located just a few minutes walk from the railway station, and 15 to 20 minutes walk from the Scillonian quay. The welcome was friendly and efficient, the pub was a pleasant place to spend the evening, and we had a good meal at a reasonable price. Upstairs there are about 20 rooms on 2 floors. Ours, room...
