PLUS POINTS - able to check in 2 hours early - Wi fi worked well - breakfast OK - some new carpet in some public areas - clean bed linen and towels NEGATIVE POINTS - bath enamel wearing away, dirty bath, plug holes on bath and sink dirty with hair. Everything worn out and grim paintwork (where any paint was... More

When I stayed.in this hotel, i coukd not believe my eyes. I felt I did not even want to touch the bedspread as it had stains. The carpet also looked stainned by who knows what, but I could not even think of having my bare feet on that. Then the toilet was awful with dispensers of cheap soaps on both... More

stayed here for 2 nights, we were a couple but we got a big family room that can sleep 5 people so no complains about that, we had plenty of space and a good view of the Sea, the beds were comfy enough, the show was alright, the food was alright as well, seemed short staffed, it needs renovating and... I try to go by the philosophy that if you haven't got anything nice to say, then don't say anything! HOWEVER - We were so let down by this place that I hope that an honest review may say someone else the upset. Do not be fooled by The Luggers website or brochure; it is clear that money spent on... This is my first bad review. On arrival told we was upgraded to Seaview room which was nice but also told they was in the middle of painting hotel. The room we was put in had a huge patch of damp by the window which the paint was falling off, the light fitting above the bed had paint falling off... More

A lovely position by sea front but oh what a shame about our room! Situated on top floor and a horrible first impression as we mounted the stairs, awful decor, old fashioned, dirty and that's just the stairs and landing! Our double room was minute, bed very soft, a foot to spare each side, horrible dirty window and view, plug... More

The Hotel Inspector would have a field day at The Lugger! Tired, cheap furnishings, bed & shower clean, good location, parking for 4 cars and a skip until Sunday when a Bouncy Castle takes preference. Breakfast staff pleasant, completely ignored at departure by management. You pay on arrival, not departure - the chances are you may ask for a reduction!!... More

Staff were all very friendly and helpful. When we checked in, we were directed to the very large room, which contained a king and three single beds. Unfortunately the furniture was in a poor state - one of the two bedside tables was close to toppling over. There were no bedside tables at all for the king bed, and no... More

Unexpected stay en route to Scilly, booked first and then saw largely bad reviews and thought oh dear. Reality was that for the budget price I had a lovely room, a super carvery meal, a relaxing drink on a lovely terrace adjacent the sea, and a nice chat to friendly staff. Highly recommended - what do the moaners expect for... More

Parts of the hotel have been renovated nicely and the view is fantastic but unfortunately our room (family room with seaview) had not been updated (or thoroughly cleaned- think bird poo on windows and mouldy curtains) for about 50years- (think psychedelic carpet and a bulk buy on yellow paint!) There is no sink in the bathroom or window in the... More
