Have just come back from a 5day holiday which was on offer with Travelzoo. As the price was so cheap we were very sceptical as to what the hotel would be like. We were pleasantly surprised, we really only wanted a base to drive around Cornwall and as long as the room was clean and the food reasonable, we would... More

Booked a single room, given room 127, what I saw when I opened the door reduced me to tears. No bigger than a cupboard, shabby, grubby, stained and dated. I dried my eyes, went down to reception to complain, and was pleasantly surprised when, without question I was offered an alternative, made me think I wasn't the first to hate... More

Went on a coach holiday and stayed at Sandy Lodge. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the food was marvelous, and plenty of it. The room was not as good as the rest of the hotel and I thought it let them down, otherwise full marks. The location is very good too for bus or walk into Newquay.... More

Just returned from 4 day break, for value for money it can't be beaten. Food perfect, pool perfect, staff wonderful especially Neville in restaurant great sense of humour ( would like to have heard a bit of whistling ???? ) Evening entertainment was superb especially DAVE who sang 50's 60's and 70's songs on a Monday. And also the Irish singer/... More

Thank you for posting your review, I'm delighted with your comments, I think our staff are wonderful too, but trust me, you don't want to hear Neville's whistling! More

We have just returned from a four day stay at Sandy Lodge. A traditional hotel in a good location to get to the town.Yes, the rooms are a bit dated but clean and tidy and the maid came in every day. Our shower room was newly refurbished. The staff were all friendly and could do no more to help you.... More

Stayed at the Sandy Lodge Hotel with David Urquhart Holidays from 9-14Sept 2012. First the only downside of our visit. The room (231) was a bit on the small side. There that's it. On arrival at the hotel after a very long journey we were welcomed by very friendly staff. As our arrival was after the time dinner was served... More

We booked a decent deal - 4 nights with breakfast and evening meal for £120 a person, so really good value. When we first arrived at our room, we were a little disappointed, it certainly did look a little old and in need of sprucing up, but the bathroom did seem fairly new. Could do with a re-paint as there's... More
