My husband and I booked the Beresford as it is classed as an all inclucive but after staying at other hotels of that class we thought that it is misleading at the Beresford.Inclucive means to us that we wouldn't be paying out extra monies for lunch-time meals and beverages/drinks during the day but,the hotel did give out after breakfast little... more

We spent last week Mon-Fri 28/01/08-1/02/08 @ The Beresford, Newquay. Booked through Shearings, definately a 9/10 ( well who gets a10?). All inclusive break, meals great with good choices. Cabaret fantastic; with Comedians like the ones appearing, who needs the theatre? Very polite staff, & the trips were excellent making the whole experience excellent. Fantastic sea views from our room,... more

What do people want for less than £40 per night? We are admittedly in our 70s, but found the Hotel superb. The meals were good, the service very good with a chatty and well mannered young lady waiting on. The bedroom was large with a spare single bed that compensated for the lack of a good view. The evenings were... more

we were quite excited about our holiday, and found the tours planned by Shearings for our enjoyment to be all we expected. The driver of our tour bus was amazing and everyone was full of praise for him. However, I would not agree that this was a four star hotel and my memories of my stay in the hotel are... more

We stayed at the Beresford Hotel Newquay last week. We booked with Shearings in the paper work it stated hotel may be unsuitable for people with walking difficulties.I thought this was the position of the Hotel ,not the interior of it. Being on the 3rd floor and the lift being smaller than those found in Spain (which certainly are small)... more

The hotel was tidy, the staff were wonderful and the food was great - the only thing wrong was the lift (too small - not a lot of good if you are slightly clastrophobic , arthritic and on the thrid floor) but would recommend it anyway, especially if you are slightly older. more

my husband and i (both 57 yrs old) stayed at the beresford for a week all inc booked thro shearings. after a 14hr coach journey from scotland the last thing we needed was a washed out downtrodden hotel like the beresford. the lift only held two people at a time and since most of the other guests there were elderly(... more

There was 4 of us with ages from 70 to 77yrs and not having been to Newquay before was pleasantly supprised, unfortunately the weather could have been better. The Shearings organisation was first classfrom Streton back to Streton with only one complaint, the coach drivers first stop was at Sedgeburo on the M5. This entailed approx 3.5 hrs driving without a stop.... more
