We have just returned from The Beresford Hotel Newquay. Where we have spent an enjoyable week in the company of Jackie and all her staff. Would recommend this hotel for anybody looking for a value for money break. No frills, just good old fashioned service with a smile (new modern hotel staff should stay there to learn how it is... This is a lovely old hotel, with friendly attentive staff and a nice relaxed feel. Came on the coach and Darren our driver was very entertaining, bit of a Shearings legend we'd say (and we only ended up on his coach because of a traffic jam elsewhere! ). One of their logos is about making happy memories and this was... More

I have stayed at The Beresford Hotel Newquay before, not a problem, but this time, very different story, allocated room smelled of urine, receptionist sent me to another room, but was very offhand. T.V came out of the ark, panel heater on wall looked so unsafe I didn't use it. Lamp switch was reported as faulty, it was never returned,... More

Hi I am so sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us this time, and that you do not want to return to us. As you are aware, we are a very traditional seaside hotel, there is no uniformity in our rooms, and whilst all rooms are to a good 2 star standard, some do still have older... More

We have just r.eturned from a short break to Newquay with Shearings after staying at the Beresford Hotel. Whilst my first impression of the hotel from the outside wasn't a good one, it looks rather tired and drab, my spirits lifted when we entered. We stayed from March 31st until April 4th and the hotel was really nice. Our room,... More

Hi Jan I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us at the Beresford and found everything to your satisfaction. At the moment it is quite hard to control the heating in the Hotel, the weather is so unpredictable and unsettled. I have looked at the radiator in your room and the thermostat did need repair! Thank you... More

a room with a skylight, and a tubular tele with 6 stations max, plus an officious receptionist who told me the car park was adjacent to the hotel was not a good start - having found the prepayment car space and given an alternative room with no skylight and a flat television with 80 channels (but no sky news 82...
