On checking in my partner was greeted by a friendly receptionist who charged £30 per person plus an extra £5 for breakfast each. We did not get any value for the £70 we parted with, on entering room 14 the first thing that grabbed my attention was the overwhelming smell of cleaning products and damp, the cleaners obviously work very... more

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Glendeveor. The staff were very friendly and on hand to help whenever we needed them - but also allowed us to enjoy the hotel and our holiday as we liked. The rooms were small and furnishings throughout the hotel are a bit dated but perfectly clean and adequate - we had a... more

I have never, ever in my life stayed in a more digusting hotel - when my children were younger we stayed in budget guest houses but never anything as deplorable as this. My husband and myself were on a coach tour last August - I wouldn't serve the food to my cat - all I can say is that the... more

We went on a coach trip and were welcomed by the manager (Alan). There was no problem booking in and we were quite happy with our accommodation. We found the food choice pretty good and well prepared. As we checked in with the coach driver we were asked for our choice of evening meal which, although a surprise, was probably... more

Our rambling Club booked with a holiday company who placed us at the Glendeveor. I looked up the reviews and I must admit was a trifle alarmed at reading some of them. I need not have worried. The staff were excellent, the food was great - ample with choice(what a salad bar we enjoyed) and please note that food is... more

Glendeveor Hotel 22nd to 25th August 2008 We have just returned from Newquay, Cornwall for what was meant to be some time away at the coast. Besides the weather not being great which is forgiveable, the same could not be said about our accomodation at the Glendeveor. Where to start is the question, nothing was actually good about this place at... more

Stayed on a bank holiday weekend and while the location is good (close to centre of Newquay) 'needs serious updating' doesn't cover it! Small rooms with tiny en-suites that are grubby, with cracked paint, faded bedding and horrible decor. Couldn't understand how we had to spend so much to stay in such a poor quality B&B for the weekend! Realised... more
