We decided to book The Edgcumbe Hotel, Newquay based on details in the Torquay Travel brochure. Some of the points that stood out to us were the option of having an outside swimming pool to use given the recent weather, with the outside sunbeds, the facilities in each room, not to mention the strap line in the brochure stating "High... Warm welcome at reception and the staff were great for the whole of my stay. The hotel is basic and dated but clean and comfortable. The location and price is unbeatable ! Limited parking but we found free parking on the road only a few minutes walk away. Would definitely stay here again. If you're expecting 5 star luxury stay... More

Me and my family came back to stay in this hotel for the 3rd time and were so pleased once again. The staff have got to be the most helpful hotel staff I've ever encountered, nothing is to much trouble.. My boys loved the indoor and outdoor pools and pool table, kept them happy for hours.. Reading some of these... More

My wife & I arrived at the hotel quite late on 1/8/14. We wanted to park our car in the car park but we're told there's a £5 a night charge. Then we're told there's no spaces, despite a car being badly parked taking up about 3 spaces. Admittedly it was the budget room because we were late booking &... More

Stayed at the Edgcumbe Hotel Newquay for 3 nights what can I say this place needs some serious attention from paint to a good clean, the rooms need a good make over, the manager was a cross between Basil Fawlty and a Regimental Sergeant Major barking his orders around the hotel at residents and staff Alex Polizzi would have a field... On arrival there was nowhere to park because the owner had parked in front of two empty spaces and refused to move so I had to park on the edge of the entrance. We then went into the hotel which was extremely outdated and smelt musty and old. We went up to the room which was fairly clean apart from... More

The edgecumb hotel newquay is somewhat tatty. It desperately needs renovating. It's clean enough but the rooms are tired. However the staff are exceptionally especially the wonderful Mel who needs a medal.
