There was nothing I didn't like about our stay at the WINDWARD and if you are looking for a good hotel that offers REAL value for money run by really nice people...The WINDWARD is the hotel to chose.. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and well appointed The Hotel is just a short walk from the beach (less than 2 mins)... more

Stayed at the Windward hotel this weekend for my friends birthday. Was very dissapointed!! The hotel if you can even call it that was very dated and for what you pay a rip off. We stayed two nights and were kept awake both nights as the walls are so thin. Missed cooked breakfast one morning as we were late (breakfast... more

Cant fault the place, very clean, good food, helpful staff, great location, loads of parking space. As a previous review states walls a bit thin, and you can here next doors, but it all adds to the entertainment. Would recommend to anyone, hope to return in the future. more

This is probably the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in. The proprietors are extremely friendly and helpful. Only two drawbacks, the chef had departed unexpectedly the week before we arrived, so no evening meals (although breakfast was cooked by the owner and was faultless), and the twin rooms were a tad small and would have been better suited to... more

Booked a two night stay at the Windward through booking.com as a "special offer" reduced rate for a superior valley view room at £110 per night (reduced from £130 per night). First disappointment was upon check in being asked to pay the full balance of the stay in advance - I hate that. I think the Windward has a problem... more

Management response from

We always welcome constructive & accurate feedback. However on this occasion we feel the need to respond. The Superior Valley View was not on Bookings.Com as a "special offer" reduced rate. It has NEVER been £130.00 per night and the reception tariff clearly shows £110.00 per night as was charged (£99.00 during off peak season). In fact, we have no...

Having returned from my Cancun Honeymoon on Thursday I had already missed the start of my friends stag do in Newquay. I flew out to Newquay from Stansted Saturday morning arriving early. After a day of surfing with mates who were staying in a surf lodge called Reef Island or something similar (not the best accomadation in the world) I... more

We were looking for a pleasant one night stay in Newquay and booked in at the Winward as their website was encouraging and their location overlooking the bay, appealing. As there wasn't a huge difference in price (£20ish) for a sea view, we opted for that. On the positive side, the location is good, the owners and staff, friendly, parking... more

We stayed at the Windward for two nights in one of their sea view suites. The room was very clean and it had a very nice terrace with views out to sea. The room was quite small and seemed to have to much furniture in it. The decor was a bit too chintzy for our tastes but it does look... more

Having just spent 3 nights at this lovely Hotel we are returning again next month!! Our room No.10 overlooked the lovely Porth Beach and being within a stones throw from the island we were able to take some lovely walks and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. The standard at the hotel was second to none. The proprietors were most welcoming and... more

We stayed at the hotel for 7 nights. The service was first class, the room was spotless with plenty of drawer and wardrobe space. Sue and Paul were excellent hosts and with Graham serving a supberb breakfast with a fantastic outlook over the bay, we could not have asked for anything better. After a previous report we were worried about... more
