Myself, my wife and 8 month old stopped at the Metro in May and we were so impressed with what felt like a new style of accomodation, with a communial kitchen, free coffee machine, homely feel and friendly staff. They have a live in receptionist and she was really friendly and helpful and the fact she lived there meant you... more

We have just returned from a two night stay in Newquay at the Metro B&B. Really fantastic little place, with some really good, flexible modern ideas that really did work and made the stay really enjoyable!!! Breakfast is served from 7am - until they put it way, continental style, in a small modern kitchen in the reception lounge of the... more

OK, maybe not much cheaper than equivalent accomodation in Newquay, but the general idea works... Minimalist, clean, simple, flexible: owner Sam (from a considerable hotel management family, apparently) appears to have tried to create a cross between a guest house and hotel, with some success IMO. I mean, how many of us have stayed in a hotel with a restaurant... more

What you see on the website is far from what you see when you get inside this is overpriced for what you get the rooms are tiny and was kept awake on the first night by the the occupants next door this would of been ok if the walls were not paper thin, bathroom is tiny. Will not be returing... more

I have read all the reviews for this hotel.... We were looking for a hotel a little different from the norm so tried The Metro. Unfortunately, my husband and I were disappointed. As with most of the reviews, the decor was cheap and in our room my husband could barely fit in the shower.... he is a large gentleman but... more

Our website proudly says we are furnished at IKEA. Why book with us if you want chintz? We also clearly state we have no baths, only showers. The ensuite passes all the relevant inspections by the Cornwall Tourist Board and the RAC, so I can only guess that the problem has more to do with (in the customers own words)...

I have just come back from the Metro and have to write to say my stay was fabulous and the staff were so friendly. I have had enough of poor seaside hotels stuck in the 70s. This place was modern, clean and just what I wanted in a small hotel. The manager recommended some great activities and some wonderful pubs... more

Had a weekend at the Metro and it was no worse than adequate, but no better either ! I left it feeling that I'd paid just a bit too much for what I actually got. The room was well maintained and nicely furnished in a modern style, but quite cramped - okay for a weekend but I would have struggled... more

With reference to this review I am confused as to where this person actually saw brands of food on display. Our self service continental breakfast is layed out in a buffet style from 7.30am until 12.00 o'clock and at no point are any brands on display. No food at all is left in packaging so where do these brands appear....

Whilst it has Hotel in its name....this is very wrong - its a glorified B&B. The staff were unprofessional, very "Fawlty Towers" style to say the least.....There is a lot better accomadation close by - I say this because we actually moved after one night. We will NOT be returning more

We found the Metro Hotel to be an excellent place to stay. Its exactly as advertised - new generation accommodation and what a great idea. We have a one year old son and the flexibility of this accommodation really suited our needs. The rooms and facilities are modern, clean and well equipped - we loved the hot drinks machine in... more
